Only 2h types
Axe Mace Staff Sword |

Definitely no xbow/bow. I could have missed a type. But I believe that's all of them.

no polearms though.

If you equip her with a 2H sword/axe/mace, she'll still shoot arcane bolts out of them like she's got a staff equipped.
Whomevers idea that was needs to be fired. |

Got my Enchantress a 2 handed sword that dropped with +118 intel (on my Barb, of course... no chance of it dropping on my Wizard)
|
Duh, don't you know? gear primarily with int drops on a barb, gear focusing on str drops on DH and monk, and dex focused gear drops mostly on the wizard and witch doctor >.> Well, that's what I've seen anyway. I've had more str gear crafts and drops that are worth millions on my DH than I've even seen things worth selling period in dex/int categories. At least we have a communal bank to transfer that stuff between our characters. |

i think she can do some i hand weapon too, but no offhand, its just better to gear her with 2h weapon..they are cheaper and more dmg

To Ohana...I wouldn't mention how we can transfer gear from the toons that acquired the item to a toon which could actually USE that item. At least not too loud or too often. Someone might think that trading it between your toons would be less fun than selling it in an auction house or melting it down for crafting. Actually, "melting it down for crafting" is a bit obscure... melting it down for "slot machine-like" tokens in place of actual crafting would be more accurate. (Said after making 16 chestpieces in a row for my DH before seeing the word "dexterity" mentioned at all...and then it was +6 Dex on a level 35 toon.)

you don't always need the corresponding primary attribute buff; aside from damage, dex buffs dodge, int resistance, and str armor which all characters need regardless of class. if you compare merchant prices between gear it's a decent yardstick for determining which item is more powerful because it factors in # of magical properties and potency etc.

Try out a "Maximus" :)
It's great... a big red demon spawns frequently (with a fire chain) and sorta tanks for you, so you sort of get the best of both types followers that way. A decent maximus doesn't have to cost a lot either, and I mean it's for your follower right, so why spend a ton. ...plus it just looks cool. |

The problem is that Blizzard, in its infinite wisdom, changed the format from how Diablo II was. In Diablo II, your primary attack was based off of the equiped weapon. Of course, the equiped weapon was also keyed to the kinds of characters. Spears and bows for Amazons and the like. Now in Diablo 3, weapons are nearly pointless because you dno't attack with them like you do in D2. The only thing they're there for is providing stats, unless of course you clear out your primary spell slot, then you can swing that sword or fire that cross bow all you want.
