After doing the last upgrade, something went wrong. I'm on Win7. Game was running pristine clean before. Now, whenever I open the game I hear a loud noise in my speakers (60hz cycle hum buzzy style). If I lower any volume in the game, it doesn't change anything.
Problem : the game isn't playable that way, it's just THAT annoying. The buzz is so loud you can even hear any of the game sounds.
Update fail I guess?
If lowering your in-game volumes, or muting your in-game sound, has no effect than chances are it's not the game causing it.
It would, however, still be worth testing all the same. Try unplugging your speakers while the game is running and see if it makes a difference. Beyond that it would also be worth trying a different set of speakers or headphones, and a different cable to your normal speakers if their setup permits it. To me, it reads as though it's power hum - though there could be any number of reasons why it's only started now, almost all of which are coincidental to the patch.
I know this is an old post, but I got about the same problem and I'd like to know if there is a solution...
My computer is plugged into an home theater amplifier. The noise is produced as long as Diablo III is on the foreground. Turning down the sound in game or in windows doesn't help. The only way to reduce it is to turn my amplifier's sound very low.
I think the problem is really related to the game because it doesn't happen in other games / apps.
