Drag and Dropping Skills

What is the purpose of being able to drag and drop your skills from the bottom menu? The only thing I have found useful thus far is when I am running away from mobs and click the skill and drag it off my bar so I LOSE all my nephalem stacks and also that skill for the remainder of that champion battle....
Can this be turned off or done away with? I mean who is dragging and dropping skills on the menu bar? MageSlayer |
