Hey I'm running around Inferno A3 and I notice that my previously decently regarded Templar had become a paper doll/ fragile mofo.
He's got 67k hp, 31% block, 20% dodge, 45% dmg reduction from armor (negligent AR due to lack of slots). But he just gets 2 shot! Barely stays alive long enough to get me two weak heals (heals none the less) then he's dead.
However I still employ him because he's the best follower to keep me marginally alive, as he's equipped with 2% fear and 1.7% freeze.
So I was just wondering what you guys are doing to keep your templar buff and alive enough to actually help you out in combat.
I am only in Act I Inferno and my Templar is doing fine unless I run into the wrong pack (plagued, molten, etc) and he just stands in the poop until he dies again and again. The only way to get him out of it is for me to run away. I think the Templar needs some dev work if he is suppose to be there to tank & soak up damage.
I personally find my templar to be very tanky as long as he doesn't take excessive environment damage. I even remember him going face to face with Rakanoth and taking 4+ hits and Rakanoth hits extremely hard.
1966 armor (40% reduction)
222 physical resist (43% reduction)
158 other resist (35% reduction)
Environmental damage is unfortunate. My templar has 100k health, but still dies to plagued, molten, etc. because he's too dumb to move. He does live through most other fights though.
He is easily my best geared follower (and have used him by far the most), but I would really like to use the scoundrel. I don't have any life regen however, and die too easily to reflect mobs when I'm not rolling with the Templar (with his regen skill).
