anyone watching the live coverage of the mars landing, seems interesting like if we find it can sustain microorganism life, we can move to Mars

people are saying the landing was a fake, those screenshots they dd was so jokes, 640x640 thumbnails black and white pic. Come on NASA you have trillions of dollars and you expect would them to have high quality pics.

The high res color camera hasn't been deployed yet I don't believe. They just wanted to get a few quick shots out for people to see, I don't recall what that b&w camera was for, but it wasn't meant for nice photography (might have had something to do with navigation)...

We could in theory already put bacteria there who use a different metabolic system which do not require oxygen but produce oxygen as part of their metabolic system.

People aren't saying the landing was fake, conspiracy theorists are claiming that nonsense.

Colonizing Mars is not practical unless you can terraform it. Terraforming Mars is not practical unless you can get a very cheap form of propulsion, such as ships powered by fusion of ordinary hydrogen (not deuterium or tritium) or some sort of huge incredibly long space rail gun that fires ships towards Mars.

That being said, if we can somehow reduce the cost of getting there (or at least sending supplies there), we might be able to establish a scientific research base even if it isn't practical to colonize.
