Diablo® III

What is so mighty about Mighty Weapons?

The wisdom I can share is thus: it is passion, I think, that enraptures the shadows. It is likewise passion that drives forth the light. And I do look forward to the moment when the time is right that I can help to further illuminate the road ahead, because it is one I am truly, honestly, excited about.

(Also, as an aside: I’m a huge soundtrack aficionado, so it warmed my heart to see Clint Mansell’s work mentioned in this thread :) ).

Your posts have more creative writing in them than the entirety of the Diablo 3 script.

True story.

With any mention of music and this game in the same sentence I just keep thinking of Pink Floyd's sound track "Money" from their album "the Darkside of the Moon".

I am almost expecting login to immediately direct you to the AH with that track playing? Maybe I AM too old.

Hail Yon Blues!!! I seek conversation with thee!

From afar I see thy 1.0.4 patch, but strangely it shimmers and disappears whenever I look at it or move in its direction???

Is this a mirage? Are ye building said device in secret or some-such?

Thy reply I desire, to this or the post before this. Verily I say Farewell to thee

~Regards
A Rampant AI~

'Lo I have journeyed long and far to bear ye the message that the wavering footprints that stretch into the glittering horizon are not a mere mirage, nor are they a devious cultist’s grand illusion.

They are real and solid, and I have ran mine own hands along their well-kept secrets. But they will not remain clasped in mystery forever. This, I promise thee.

Soon, news of thy patch will approach in caravan with lush scrolls of information. I merely request thy understanding that further sand must run its course through the hourglass before light can be shone on yonder details.

Best dev reply ever! You so deserve a raise!

Lingering through the forums it seems a CM has been attached to a certain thread.
Thy thread above shall address CM friendly point form feedback for the all awaited patch.

To the Keepers of Secrets:

There are whispers they say, whispers of changing times, changes so glorious the sands of time stop completely at it's approach. However there are also whispers of devastation, unrest and turmoil, the peoples of this world are slighted everyday.

The strong grow stronger, the weak and poor remain so yet all reach out for the light as if it was in sight. As their hands grip their hopes and dreams they find them to be remnants of a dream, of a better world.

The sands shimmer as the sun gleams down upon them and the eyes of a fool see a glowing trail of footprints. The Keepers make a fool suffer for their hope, their resilience towards what already is fated to be, but this cannot be so, it was fated that balance would be restored.

Yet still the equilibrium of this world shifts and fools continue to follow the shimmering sands, but it is not too late to cast out the Keepers and reclaim this world and shatter the secrets of all!

Band together and force the Keepers to reveal the secrets of the shimmering sands and let equality rule over all. Crush the Keepers of Secrets and throw their cause to the decaying winds of time.

This I say must be done, evil cannot triumph.

Signed:

The Relentless Herald of Justice

Touching on the blue's response, it does seem weird to cast spells with a witchdoctor while holding 2 class-specific weapon with off-hand, while having neither of those items contain damage animations. Maybe I'm wrong, but I certainly didn't notice them doing that. I know in WoW 1h+spellbook was the common thing for Warlocks, but none of the spells came from those items. However, if you switched to your wand, that would harness an animation factor.

witch doctors don't do specific ceremonies with their knives, either.

I’m sure those ceremonial knives are useful for other things, too. Whittling, for instance.

A hero’s got to have hobbies.

Considering the state of the WD class vs the others, whittling is pretty much their specialty right now.

Talking about hero hobbies?

Witchdoctor- working on his hand-eye coordination so all those crossbows that empower his zombies will have a purpose

Monk- spends her spare time with her ther apist (really? You censor that word?) to try to find means in life to raise her spirits that don't involve murder

Barbarian- hits the gym, working on his cardio; all that fleeing is tough in plate mail!

Demon Hunter- works with a memory recollection specialist, trying his damndest to remember how to concentrate on hiding for more than a second, and how to make his nether tentacles have, you know, more than one tentacle

Wizard- testing every possible skill with Archon, desperately trying to find another cash cow glitch to reclaim that long-lost feeling of being desired

The reason blues keep saying "we'll let you know later about the upcoming patch and the future of d3, for now go RMAH"

is simple.

They literally have no idea what to do and don't care at all.

If they did, they would have involved the community and ask for their opinions on what WE the players who bought this game WANT, not what blizzard THINKS we want.

Seriously, the only reason I see as to why the blues don't post anything about future changes to d3 is because there is nothing to report (again, blizz has no idea what they want to do)

There's no reason to blame blues at all for not posting much on the forums. What can they post info to the community about if the people in charge are standing around a jay wilson idol doing circle jerk RMAH rituals?

Its been downhill since the release. Used to see well over 1k games being played in the pub. Down to 700-800 around peak times for me. Blizz screwed up and have no idea what direction they want to go in now, but one thing is for sure, it will based on RMAH.

There is no excuse at all for any kind of business to be keeping their paying customers outside of the loop about the future of their product, that's the most basic economic principle.

It's becoming increasingly obvious blizzard has no idea what on earth to do to fix this mess.

Here's a simple suggestion : Just start out by keeping your freaking customer base in the loop of things regarding the future of the game.

Its been over a month since the player base has had any kind of relevant information about the actual game d3. That's just complete bs.

^^^ THIS!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love Blizzard games...or at least I used to. But I am SOOOO sick of grinding in Inferno Acts I and II for absolute garbage that I've lost faith. I'm pretty much looking forward to Borderlands 2 at this point and D3 will be relegated to an afterthought. The loot system seriously sucks and if they nerf MF(because I can farm Act II pretty easily with 316% MF equipped all the time) well, then I'm done.

The best thing Blizzard could do is to create a server or two where those of us who want to play solo can enjoy higher drop/quality rates and be prohibited from using the auction houses. I'm SICK AND TIRED of wasting untold hours surfing the GAH looking for stuff when I could be playing the game. Let me have a decent chance of something dropping that is actually useful and bar me from the reason that this game is suffering right now. Screw the auction houses and let those of us with families and demanding jobs play the game for the enjoyment of finding that awesome item instead of wasting my time surfing the damn auction house. For God's sake, it really isn't that difficult to figure out....

Patch notes for 1.0.4 will be released either the week before or the week of August 28th as to try and take a little bit of hype away from GW2.

Too little, too late is my guess. The arrogance and complete ignorance of reality by those who tell the developers what to do will be the downfall of this game. Pardon the rhyme, but what a shame. I think it's too late to save it. Unless they ditch those damn auction houses and make item drops actually useful, not to mention the idiotic nerfs which suck what's left of fun out of the game. Solo players like me suffer because of the idiocy of botters and others of such ilk. BS!
