Also unless your items are changing all the time. My app that downloads all the api info on my characters does this.
1. I first call the Profile Api to determine if the last updated on any of the characters has changed..
2.I call the character API for the characters that have been updated since the last time I called the API.
3. From that i can get the list of items for the character...then i look to see if there are any new items based on the tooltip value. and Only call the item api for those items.
That way you you take the hit the first time you call a profile. But consequent times after that you only hit the api other than the profile api for things that have changed.
Thanks Teduce, that's what i'm doing now. I'm at ~1.4k requests per day for my EHP Calculator. I'm a bit afraid to enable this for the DPS Calculator because only 3-5% use the EHP.
Guess i have to ask for a key with my 30k requests and another increase as soon as the special characters in Battletags are fixed.
What kind of information should i write in that mail (Domain, IP, Account Name ?). Sry if there is a topic about that but i couldn't find anything.
Here you go:
Registering an application is a matter of providing a description of the application, how you plan on using the API and your contact information to <email@example.com> with the subject "Application Registration Request". Once we receive your request, we will contact you to either provide additional information or with application keys to use.
If I have the key for WoW API, do I still need to register an application to get D3 API key? I'm trying to use WoW key but getting 500 response with message "Invalid application signature". Either I'm doing something wrong or I just need another key.
It's the same key. For some reason, I get "Invalid application signature" only when trying to fetch player profiles, while hero and items data are fetched without problems.
