**People ... CALM DOWN.**The stat we are discussing in the thread reads "

*Adds x% to <elemental> damage*"

*Example:* Zunimassa's Trail

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/maximusThe stat on Stormcrow, Tal's ammy, SoJ, Zuni boots, ect. DOES NOT depend on the element of the skill you use. It increases the damage on your wep by:

**2 * x% <element> * MINIMUM weapon damage**Conceptually: If your weapon has a minimum damage of 100, with "Adds 6% to lighting Damage" on Stormcrow, your wep will now do an additional 6 lighting damage with every hit. This raises the MIN and MAX of your wep to 6 higher than it was before.

Elemental damage on your wep is NOT factored into your wep's minimum damage but +min damage and +xx% damage stats ARE factored into it.

**Examples for clarification:**You are using a 5% Zunimassa's boots that has the stat: "

*Adds 5% to poison damage*"

**1. You have a wep that does 100-200 damage and NO stats.**-Zuni's boots will add 0.05 * 100 = 5 POISON damage to the MINIMUM damage of your wep AND 0.05 * 100 = 5 POISON damage to the MAXIMUMdamage of your wep

-Now your wep does 105-205 damage, 5 of which is poison.

-The overall DAMAGE of your wep has increased by 10 (5 min 5 max).

**2. You have a wep that does 100-200 damage with a +100min +200max damage stat.**-This wep tooltip READS as doing 200-400 damage.

-Zuni's boots will add 0.05 * (100 BASE + 100 MIN) = 0.05 * 200 = 10 POISON damage to the MINIMUM damage of your wep AND 0.05 * (100 BASE + 100 MIN) = 0.05 * 200 = 10 POISON damage to the MAXIMUMdamage of your wep

-Now your wep does 210 - 410 damage, 10 of which is poison.

-The overall DAMAGE of your wep has increased by 20 (10 MIN 10 MAX).

**3. You have a wep that does 100-200 damage with a 100-200 FIRE damage stat.**-This wep tooltip READS as doing 200-400 damage.

-Zuni's boots will add 0.05 * 100 BASE = 5 POISON damage to the MINIMUM damage of your wep AND 0.05 * 100 BASE = 5 POISON damage to the MAXIMUM damage of your wep.

-Now your wep does 205 - 405 damage, 5 of which is poison and 100-200 of which is fire.

The overall DAMAGE of your wep has increased by 10 (5 MIN 5 MAX).

*Note: *Because the stat increased the BASE damage that your wep does, it is then further increased in effect just the way a higher dps wep would be. Main stat, crit, crit dmg, attack speed ... ect.

**"Adds +x% of physical Weapon damage as <element> to your Weapon"**OR Change the way the stat works to incorporate all types of weapon damage (no idea why this isn't the case already) then it could simply read:

**"Adds +x% of Weapon damage as <element> to Attacks"**
