Guild War 2 did almost everything right on what Blizzard couldn't do.
Because of Diablo 3 disappointment, everyone advertise the game, Guild War 2, for free because Guild War2 promised them PvP and that their server will not fail on the first week. It wasn't a perfect launch but it was pretty damn good compare to D3 first week.
Thanks to Blizzard's failure, now they have other games to compete with because the next time a Blizzard game comes out, I'll have to think twice before getting it.
Launch was actually early. ;)
GW2 did take a good number of D3's and WoW's subscribers. Not phenomenal but enough to prove a point. For being on day 4-5ish of being released GW2 is standing at 1 million pre-sold copies and 400,000 players on at once can say alot about the game. Its can't be that bad to have sold that many and still maintain that many players. SWTOR only maintained around a million throughout its lifetime.
We'll have to wait and see how it does.
