Not bad for a scrub who couldn't get a char to 60, eh? ;)

90 more to go, Bob. 90 more to go.

Decided to poke my head into act II again. First elite I ran into was wasps - vortex/molten/arcane/I didn't even read the last one because they vortexed me into their molten and I almost bought it (well, almost is relative, I guess. I did not red screen. My life pool was like 1/8 or something, they chased me all the way back into town but I got to the door to the camp). Guess I farm act I some more.

'cause its the answer to life, the universe and everything

My favorite "question" ... "How many pips on a pair of dice?" ;) Although P42 is, unfortunately, already taken.

Note that I have not forgotten about this.

When I started this, 100k was a lot of dough because I'd never had a 60, so I limited my loss to that (had to be sure I'd be able to pay it).

I've starting to accumulate some cash (although, obviously not at the same rate as some) so I'm going to permanantly raise the floor to 500k. I will probably raise the floor again as my bank accumulates. From this point on payout will be a minimum of 500k, or 10% of my bank, whichever is larger.

Plenty of open slots available.

I haven't been as scared/on edge as I have been today since I first moved into Inferno Act I.

Every time I've tried to push into Act II it's been scary - real scary. The last time (I posted about it somewhere in this thread) the first elite I ran into was molten/vortex/something/something wasps, and they vortexed me onto stacked molten and I nearly died.

But 1.0.5 is looming ... and I want to know what I am capable of without the nerfbuffs. And I see people I know moving in on act II and act III, and I think to myself ... are you really not going because you think you're not ready ... are you really waiting to up your armor w/ your source offhand and/or up your dps with your shield offhand? Or are you just scared?

And last night, I bought some pants. You know nothing's going to go wrong when you buy some lucky pants, right?

So put my shield in my offhand again, because I'd rather find out I need more dps in my armor build by having to run away, than find out I need more armor with my dps build by dying. And I change quests, selecting the first quest in Act II.

and then ...
and then ...

I got my first 5-stack in act II: http://i.imgur.com/ITBiL.jpg
I ran a *lot*: http://i.imgur.com/YzD5E.jpg
I full cleared every map I went through (you need space to run, to run that much): http://i.imgur.com/mCvj4.jpg
Sometimes I'd shoot while I ran: http://i.imgur.com/NAnTC.jpg
MAGHDA IS DOWN: http://i.imgur.com/IPhKx.jpg

I do feel like I could use some more dps. I was creeping real slow, scared out of my mind, especially against elite wasps, and the arcane/molten/something/something land shark that I had to kill by DSing, dps'ing, running when ds ran out until DS came off cool down, then doing all that again. So scared I had to consciously stop myself from repopping Energy Armor over and over between packs ... because I was hitting it so much I'd have no AP when I was starting to fight a pack. But it felt good, too, to be pushing in to an area/difficulty I'd never played before (well, technically, I'd killed maghda on the ptr, weeks and weeks ago. So I've sort-of done it once. But that is not the same as doing it on live before 1.0.5 comes out). It felt damn good.

I did have to use the Diablo III equivalent of an AK,
but today was still a good day.

Be cautious, if you're down to 1/8 life on your first elite then you're prob not really ready for a2. My barb who died had that happen, then I got into the sewars, and BAM he was dead. Check out my gear, I'm geared for a3 (hopefully), so a2 was easy. Now for a3/4!

That was on Sept 28th - two weeks ago. When that happened I booked it out (or, rather, was chased out by that pack after kiting them to the door of the hidden camp without killing even one mob of the pack) and went back to farming act I. But yeah, I am definitely being damn cautious, and not sure if I'll push in more or what. The first area is kind of ok once I get a fair chunk of the first map cleared because I've then got a ton of space to move. the next bit is the audience and sewers ... which is much tighter quarters ...

I for sure could be better geared, and it definitely felt like the wrong affix combo could own my face. So yeah, I was ready to book it again if the slightest thing went wrong.
