I played TL1 - it was -okay- but i wouldn't pay 20 for its Sequal unless it was suppose to be far better. Anyone have input here?
Will it have pvp and other things that make a game fun in a long term basis?
Personally I think it will be -FAR- better than the original.
Multiplayer alone (so that my wife and I can actually play it together) makes it worth the $20.00
Then add in the fix for my biggest gripe, of everything happening in a 'dungeon' or cave and I've got a winner for sure. I absolutely hated that every adventure was just going down into the same cave, and now with TL2 we've got 3 towns, plenty of above ground playing, as well as underground and dungeons.
I don't know if it has PvP or not, as I don't find PvP to be any fun, it's just not my style.
But for $20.00 I'm really not looking for "long term" playing of it. If I play it just as much as I played TL1 (about 350 hours) then It will be an awesome investment for my wife and I.
The ONLY gripe I hear about TL2 is the graphics. This is a non-issue because the game is COMPLETELY moddable, which means it could be made to look like anything if you really wanted it to.
I plan to buy it, and that's saying a lot for this miser.
Well, you could also say that the lore is pretty forgettable, the plot is a total Diablo II rip-off, Matt Uelmen's score - while decent - is nowhere as memorable as Diablo's, combat can get easily messy, and hardly any risks or innovations seem to have been taken in regard to the gameplay.
Besides, why would anyone buy a game on the sole account of it's moddability? Mods aren't guaranteed to improve the experience for you, especially if you don't like the vanilla gameplay.

It's supposed to have what 3x? 4x the content? The skill trees were revealed and it looks like it is going to be more awesome fun on the way with the new skill perks. Add in multiplayer and I don't know how you could possibly ask for more in the sequel at the same price as the original. The original was slow going but in the end the itemization was amazing and it only gets better with the additional affixes.
