Well im in inferno now, the heals are pretty pointless, and so im thinking of going to enchantress for the armor/attack speed/cc. The only thing templar gives me is, like I said, crappy heals(which he usually burns on himself), life regen, a stun, and resource regen.
My question (as a monk) is if inspire is worth it, or should I just go for the enchantress(as inspire and life regen is the only thing really keeping the templar around).
I know this subject is probably more opinion, but what are your thoughts?
Enchantress (powered armor+ 5-6k dps+ cc) is definitely better in inferno, when you look at the way current Templar skills work.
Think of using the templar as a challenge. His dps is bad, his heals are bad, he charges at the worst possible mobs at the worst moment, and Inspire isn't inspiring at all. If you want resource regen, better stick to fists with spirit on hit. Guardian is much better due to the knockback effect+ heal that buys you a split second to live.
Templar's life regen is bad if your regen is bad. However, if you have top regen, his Loyalty skill is indespensable. It boosts you up like an extra piece of gear.
He's probably the worst choice in inferno, but since he's the closest thing to a paladin of westmarch, Kormac is still my preferred crazy buddy. Properly geared, he isn't so bad.

Templar is a bad choice for a monk (you have better heals native to yourself) but saying his heals are outright bad is really biased. For classes like DH+Wiz the templar's heals are worth quite a bit.
On the plus side Kormac has the highest burst damage spell of the followers.
I'd go with Enchantress as a monk personally. Powered Armor +3% AS is awesome.
Kormac's heals are bad. They don't scale with your hp, has a random trigger and long cooldown. It's a bonus if it triggers, if not, all you can rely on is his regen. His burst damage skill, is easily outgunned by the steady, high dps of the enchantress and multi-target cc of the scoundrel. You pretty much outgrow the templar's benefits after level 45.
But you really don't need followers to survive. Inferno is pretty much doable without them. Pick one you like the most, gear it properly and enjoy its quirks.
