FYI here is how the unids scam works.

1. Player finds lvl 63 items in HC live server
2. The player has no idea if they are good or not
3. Player then copies character over to the PTR test server
4. Player id's all items on PTR server
5. Player now knows which items are good and which are not
6. The player then id's the good items on the live server
7. Player puts the good items on AH and leaves the bad ones unidentified
8. Player posts on HC forum offering unids items knowing they are no good
9. Profit
10. Player gets mad when scam is exposed on forum

When you copy a character you copy *everything* -> the gear your wearing, the gear in your stash and the gold you have. The PTR copy looks exactly the same as the live server including all items, identified or not.

You can copy every 3 days.

wow - Blizz dropped the ball (again) on this ... btw, after reading your post on this scam, i ID'd my stash full of ilvl 63 items (had 30 saved up) - i was debating whether to sell of ID but when i learned of this craptacular way to scam people, i decided to just gamble and ID them all myself ... 30 pieces of crap about to get salvaged >< lol

FYI, I have been selling unids for... a long time. This topic is made long before the PTR.

I've also heard you can't "cheat" like the way you described it with the ptr. I've never tried and won't even think about it. I don't even have the ptr but there is no way i can prove it.

Just cuz there's a rumor about scams (if it exists) doesnt mean everyone is doing it. This topic is about a month old and I made a few before this one.
