Sever Nerf?

I must be a bit slow...
Where is the glitch in all this?
It seems like a pretty regular weapon to me, yet somehow, everyone is up in arms about life leech. Where is it?

With life steal on gear, it can heal you depending on your HP all the way to full on the killing blow. It is a nice but certainly not over powering feature. With decent dps, it can be a good, not godly weapon. With the additional damage to demons, it can cut through trash mobs pretty fast.

Thanx for the attempt, but I still don't understand. Which stat exactly is the glitch?
Where is this above average awesomeness that everyone speaks of?
We are still talking about Sever: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/sever right?

slain enemy rest in pieces.

what this does is every killing blow is a confirmed crit that deals an insanely high amount of damage. if the sever has life leech, then ur almost guaranteed to heal full for every kill. take it as some sort of life after kill, but it replenishes ur health to full. as a result, all trash mobs are now a full health globe.

try youtube it and u'll find a lot of clips showing it in action.

Oh? I thought that stat was either misspelled as though it was meant to be like an old D2 item where slain enemies rest in peace (cannot be brought back to life or similar) or that the stat just triggers an animation that chopped up every enemy into many pieces upon death solely for the sake of enjoying the animation/moon gravity.

With that said, it seems strange how a killing blow would deal a critical hit. It seems that the problem is not with the item then; instead it is with the concept of the stat as what it truly does is not clearly represented.

Rest In Pieces is currently only cosmetic, except if you have some Life Steal on something (impossible for Witch Doctors using Last Breath).
Huh? You can find last breath with Leech on it in the AH starting at like 3mil+

Hey I agree with CL for once. Just picked one up for 300k sold mine during the last craze. Now that they aren't getting nerfed glad to have one back! Granted I take a 30k DPS hit to use it but it's fun, and will work well in lower mp levels where I'm 1 shotting everything anyways.

(last breath that is) Time to grab an Sever before the prices shoot back up.

The stat sounds like it should remain a cosmetic stat and not trigger all this potential life leeching. That way no "nerf" comes to the item and instead they just fix the stat from interacting with other procs.

If they leave as is (which seems to be the case now) it is really legendary. Not overpowered but has a nice benefit and keeps it from being vendor trash. Something to hang onto and fun.

Changing what the stat can/cannot do (proc) and leaving the item alone, is that not leaving the item the way it is? Leave the legendary part to the item and not the exploitation of the stat which some day or another can find its way onto another, possibly not-currently-existing item.

like i said in a similar post....

about a month ago or so, the sword sever would give you millions of damage with a life leach glitch. apparently if you have life leech on a belt and use sever it would proc for almost 1 mil damage. Is this still going on? I asume that they hotfixed it. But i would like to know for sure that people are not still doing this. I saw a video someone was doing like 800k on the last hit everytime. Like i said, this was awhile ago tho and i asume they fixed this glitch.
