Items

•The cast time for identifying Rare items has been reduced to 1 second
•The cast time for identifying Legendary items has been increased to 4 seconds
•The location of Legendary items will now be marked by a column of light as well as a ping on the mini-map the first time they drop, and a new sound has been added
•Affixes on items will now roll their level based on the level of the monster killed (rather than the item’s level)
•Class-specific items will now drop more often
•Items below iLevel 58 no longer drop in Inferno difficulty
•Square-quality gems no longer drop in Inferno difficulty
•Monk class Skill bonuses can now roll on shields
•The chance for Legendary and set items to drop has been doubled

Are we sure that the double legendary drop rate will be poart of 1.0.5 once it goes live? It is listed with all the other features that will be part of the patch but it sounds like something that they would do only on the test server so people can test the new legendary related things like the map locator and the increased identifying time.

I would feel much better if a blue confirmed that the double drop rates will be part of the patch.

BUY ALL BRIMSTONES WHILE YOU STILL CAN! WHEN 1.04 HITS, BRIMSTONE PRICES WILL SKYROCKET!

lmfao!

I did this the two weeks leading up to patch 1.0.4, then sold 75% of my stash when the patch hit making a 400% profit. Lost money on the remaining 25% but come out over 150 million gold ahead so money can be made if you gamble right. I bought 100 cheap legendaries this morning for around 20k on average and sold them as brimstone for 66k an hour ago so profit can definitely still be made.

The easiest potential profit today was for those who bought out stacks of exquisite essence this morning when it was going for around 500 gold. They are selling at around 1000 gold again.

hmm, people don't want legendaries more often? that's odd

If you haven't already, you should consider converting your current gear to cash via the RMAH since real $ is the best hedge against gold devaluation. For instance, the value of gold has dropped by 70% IN THE LAST WEEK ALONE from $2 per million to 57 cents per million.

It will takes weeks before we could even notice a difference for godly items (wich are clearly the ones that matters for most players). Considering that, you suggest that I sell all my gear and that i play naked in public games for a few weeks till i could rebuy my gear at a cheaper price?

Blizzard just announced that the drop rates for legendary and set items are going to be doubled. Combined with the giant boost to MF/GF provided by the monster level system in patch 1.0.5, your current gear is going to plummet in value as "good items" become more common.

If you can't sell via the RMAH, convert your current equipment to ingame gold since you'll likely be able to buy back your equipment post-patch at a fraction of current costs.

Countervailing Factor: If patch 1.0.4 is any indication, drop rates for the first 36 hours after 1.0.5 hits are going to be sweet until the AH fills up. You might want to get some mid-range farming gear to tide you over until auction house prices plummet.

They wanted legendaries to drop more often, until they found out that legendaries were going to drop more often. Now, they don't want legendaries to drop more often.

Sell your gear and buy it back for cheaper unless it is already godly.

Sigh...you guys are hilarious.

Let me break it down to you guys with no economical sense whatsoever.

Double legendary drops (which actually equates to about triple in higher monster powers due to MF increase)

So now all the mid tier - high end legendaries will be cheaper in gold price. That means gold will gain it's value back so that you can try to afford the top items. The problem with this is since more gold is in the economy due to saving money on mid - high tier items the very TOP tier actually GAINS value.

So what actually happens is:

Less gold demand for mid-high tier legendary
More gold avaliable for top tier items
Top tier legendary rises in value because they are selling faster
Inflation on top tier legendary begins and they rise by 200-300%
You're back to square 1, however mid to high tier items didn't break you bank

It's win win for everyone. So save your gold for top quality legendary, it just got a lot more valuable.

Example:

My AR+Resist Lacuni's no main stat, 3% CC (mid tier)
My upgrade: AR+INT+5% CC (high tier)
Final upgrade: AR, INT+VIT+ 6% CC (top tier)

1.04 values:
80-100m mid tier (mine)
200-300m high tier
600-800m Top tier

1.05 after double legendary drops:
30-50m mid tier (mine)
80-160m high tier
1.5 - 2billion top tier

It's pretty much a BIS buff. However this effect will not happen for awhile. When patch arrives pretty much anything that was high tier will shoot up immediately due to the surging demand of gold for them, they'll actually shoot up in price before they fall.

Hellfire ring sucks. Diablo fans are heartbroken. Now there no more reason to gear up for high level MP levels when you can farm MP1-2 at a blazing pace.

If you haven't sold your gear, you should do so now. The bubble will be popping soon!

The AH bubble will not pop right away... hell, this thread probably has more of an influence on the Ah than the patch will. Keep in mind that this influences the legendary level items. So the items like rares with loH, crit, etc. that are quite amazing will still be the same.

On top of that, these items still require the people on AH to make the change in pricing. There are plenty of legendary items out there right now that go for hundreds of millions that do not end up being sold. Even though there are tons of near identical versions, people still keep the pricing high. Why? Because other people keep their pricing high, so shall you. So all these new legendary drops and such will still be priced at the current pricing which in some cases will be absurdly high.

This is why until reality kicks in and most people drop the prices at the same time (which will be inevitable bubble burst), the pricing wont fluctuate too much. What will happen is that, the amount of items you could afford normally will simply increase. So if you have legendary items running for like, 5 or 8 mill, there will be a lot more of those and price will drops little faster. But the higher ones like vile shoulders, those will take longer.

the day RMAH came out-> cash out
regear after ias nerf-> 5M
Play->around 30M in gear and RMAH any piece with 9.99+ value
Sell all gear with still value and will lose value at 1.0.5-> only 55M :( many pieces with great increase in value but the rest worthless

Next Regear missing pieces with 55M after 1.0.5 prices lower-> hope for upgrade overall

I like DIII but i hate that sell gear and wait the patch is the best idea
