Diablo® III

Finished Hardcore with Zero Death

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I've just beaten inferno hardcore Diablo with zero hardcore death and no tank barbarian in softcore (gotten one to level 60 recently for WW Barb and achievement). And with 12k dps.

I am just SO happy for finally completing this long journey, killing almost every monster in every zone, playing safe at all times, and occasionally relying on pure luck... I can say with pride that I have beaten Diablo.

I have never cashed in once in softcore or traded softcore to hardcore, and only have gotten 3mil from selling a good Butcher's Sickle... I can't prove this but inside I know, and I'm glad for sticky to hardcore "hardcore" all the way.

Hopefully many others could finish hardcore successfully, and if you have already, congratulations! I could only play on weekends due to the busy week, but I am very serious when it comes to Diablo on the weekends. Thanks for reading this e-peen post, and keep enjoying the adventure! :)

Grats. And good job on never dying once, very few can say that.

how did you beat enrage timers after act 1? 12k dps is too low for belial, etc.

You can swap for dps passives/skills for bellial/gohm and be fine with 12k base dps. The rest of act 2/3/4 are no issue, although somewhat slow goings, i think i had about 12.2k dps when i cleared act 3+4.

I beat inferno Belial with 11k dps.

I'm glad the hardcore community is much better than the softcore just like in D2. :)

Very impressive, especially at 12k dps. While I'm always happy to see people clear inferno I'm becoming more and more disappointed in myself and my lack of also doing so. Especially when I look at some of the stats that other people are doing it with. I need to hunker down :(

But, I digress, grats to you Ultimatum, well done!

I'm just going to play devil's advocate and say that since you have 9 out of 10 character slots, have had a hardcore character since at least June (http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5768826975?page=24#475) and only have 2100 elite kills, that this claim is highly suspect.

I thought that if you had characters die they go to a fallen heroes section. Also I quit Diablo for some time in the summer to travel, and I also played quite a bit of softcore (with IRL friends) before coming back to hardcore to finish it before 1.0.5.

Wait here's EXTRA PROOF:

Elite kills by 9 characters: 2116+7187+4897+1376+1354+1309+108+80+78=18505
Total elite kills: 18508

The less 3 is because I let my friend finish act 1 normal once. :)

Only if you manually archive them there, and profiles (elites killed, etc) are well known to be inaccurate. My own profile, for example, is +374 kills on the total vs what's listed on the characters, and I have never deleted a character that wasn't dead and archived.

And again, just playing devil's advocate. You can make as solid an argument as you want, but there's no way to prove this claim outside of having constantly recorded/streamed and updated/logged your progress during your gaming.

Hmm, alright I guess I can't conclusively prove it, and I probably shouldn't brag about it in the first place. :P

At any rate, I'm just happy to be finished hardcore inferno.

Congratulations, Ultimatum! I'm coming up the pike behind you with the same goal (solo-only, no outside gold being brought in, no hardcore deaths) but I have the benefit of extensive softcore experience to help me. I also got really lucky and found a legendary which sold for 10m gold, which set me pretty well for getting started on gear. I'm about to take on the Inferno Butcher, probably tonight.

I was a little worried about my 16k dps heading into Act 2, but if you made it all the way to big D with substantially less, I guess my worries are more or less unfounded (at least for now!)

I'd like to get my resists up another 100-150 or so for Act 2 though!

Any specific tips you want to share about the journey forward? Which bosses were the toughest/scariest with that low dps? Did you use Earthquake/WOTB combo on them, or switch to dps passives, or both for the boss fights?

@Galx I'd say more resists, but that life regen is so good in the later acts I'm glad you have 800! For Zoltun Kulle I went for WOTB/Call of Ancients, and for Belial I went for WOTB/Earthquake. You REALLY have to be careful at Belial, since you want your DPS but still watch for the circles. In acts 3/4 you have to start playing way more carefully, being stunned by Armaddons or get hit by a few Spearmen can be pretty dangerous. For Ghom DPS is no way nearly as important as sustain, so some LoH and LPS is all you need. Play safe and run from desecrate with Iskatu, do high DPS combo + Revenge for Rakanoth, use Juggernaut passive for Izual, and remember to run from clones for Diablo. The clone I had had Ancient Spear + 4-second Ground Stomp stun... that combo is SO DEADLY! Almost died lol.
You can definitely finish it now, so just play safe and progress slowly.

Last try to prove my no-death hardcore finish:
ALMOST CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE:

http://oi49.tinypic.com/sbk4uv.jpg
http://oi48.tinypic.com/18et7c.jpg
Total barbarian time: 92 hours 18 minutes.

http://oi49.tinypic.com/20s6akm.jpg
92 hours 19 minutes, probably rounding problem.

http://oi49.tinypic.com/2v28cya.jpg
Hardcore level 60: 6/22/12

http://oi46.tinypic.com/2la3acm.jpg
Second character level 60: 6/22/12 (first character is actually my wizard in softcore)

That means I had at one time just my Ancient barbarian and my Archbishop wizard at level 60, and the only hardcore character I had was Ancient barbarian.

Is that enough evidence now? :P

No, and you're trying too hard.

Also, since we have proved that I have only Ancient and Tank these two barbarians and no deleted barbarians from time played proof, look at this:

http://oi50.tinypic.com/11lqxk7.jpg

The hardcore levels achievements coincide with my first barbarian achievements.

But the plethora of evidence I have given you... :(

I dont know if no hardcore death is something u could brag about since a lot of ppl deaths came from disconnect/game freezes.

other than that congrats and yes at this point its very easy to complete the game with all the cheap gear u can find on AH.

One thing im surprised tho is that u could beat GHOM with 12k DPS thats pretty impressive plus only lv.5 Paragon is pretty incredible.

That's true, and I had a fair share of lags with the massive hardcore killoff that frustrated many people one day back in June, and me running a computer with a Pentium D single core.
I have to admit, yes, the AH is so diluted now that it's easy to finish the game with limited budget. It was much less full of goodness when I first started.
Actually I don't know why you need a high dps for Ghom, he doesn't have a high damaging enrage does he?

WOW! Thanks for all the tips, Ultimatum! I've saved them to a text file so I'll have them handy when the time comes!
