So, I know by and large, crafting is not considered a good avenue to either good items or profit. However, you also see a few items (mostly sets, I think) that are considered desirable with a good roll. Among them is I know Hallowed Defenders and Helm of Command. Are there any others that I should be keeping an eye out for? If I decide to buy them from the AH, is it conceivable that I would see my money back within a reasonable time frame (say 2 months at the most)? If I offer to craft for mats+tips, will anyone ever take me up on it if I don't have a stream set up, even with a sterling reputation?
Just putting some feelers out there.
I have been having great luck with the Cain's set (lvl 23) items:
All recipes use Subtle Essences and Fallen Teeth.
Costs per item
SE - 500 Gold, FT 134
Cain's Sandals - 30 SE, 12 FT = (30 * 500) + (12 * 134) = 16,608
Cain's Scribes - 30 SE, 12 FT = (30 * 500) + (12 * 134) = 16,608
Cain's Memory - 50 SE, 14 FT = (50 * 500) + (14 * 134) = 26,876
Cain's Robes - 44 SE, 12 FT = (44 * 500) + (12 * 134) = 23,608
I sell all of them for around 80-90K Gold, or about $3.00 on Cash if stats are great.
I sell 30-40 a day. Not millions, but not bad.
