Diablo® III

15 legendaries in 3 hours = CONTROLLED DROPS

If drop is higher then the game would be a success. I have a friend who has been playing since day 1 and didn't accumulate didn't find anything nice. The gold accumulated is about 30m, which is about price of 1 really good item after inflation kick in.

I have not gotten any legendary items or even set items to drop since beta. I got 5 neph buffs and even paragon level 9 and on act 4 inferno, but never seen 1 yet.

Its a flipping ARPG luck is a given but there shouldnt be such insane and unimaginable differences between players drops. 1 set item from a chest the entire time i played and about 4 completely worthless garbage legends. Nothing fun or rewarding about never being able to reasonably find your own set items.

So, you're saying they SHOULD control drops?

well the issue is that the system we have is to random.

What people want is a treasure hunt. Not a slot machine. What we have now is the slot machine. Where is teh difference? Well take the legendary items or set items. They are very rare compared to the other items you find. But some of them have now the potential to be really good items. The issue is that even if you find a legendary or set item the range between "garbage" and "good" is very high. The exact same class of item like some IK glove can be either worth 3 milion or 150m Gold or even more.

This is not what people are looking for.

Rare content is "ok". Good stuff should be rare. It should take time to find it. But it should not end in a slot machine. Like class specific items roling stats that are of no use for that class. Like strength on a bow or wizard wand. As long that happens people will not be statisfied. Diablo 2 changed this with patches and LoD making the game a treasure hunt and not a slot machine. Why D3 is now repeating the same mistake is something I dont understand ...

I do agree, I never get 3 legendaries in a day... one was a Zunimassa's Vision,.. I neeeever get drops like that... Everytime its a patch coming out it's like they take their drop filter off.

IDK my MF is around like 205% isnt that good for getting legendaries i play at least 6 hours a day and i never pick up a legendary... it kind of makes me mad!! But i hope the patch 1.05 helps a lot if it doesnt im going play a lot maore than usual :) thanks Blizzard for trying your best tho :)

paranoid much?

I was at the casino playin Jacks or better poker, dang old guy sittin next to me hit 3 royal flush's in the 2 hours i was sittin there. I tried to complain to the casino that his machine was broken... they just laughed at me :(

Thanks for the info, Mango. I believe what you are saying is correct, and what I probably should have been doing is just focus on getting one player way up in the paragon levels rather than spreading time among all ten. My barb cannot survive even act II in inferno, but surprisingly my Monk has been plowing through act II and is almost ready for act III. But if I understand correctly how the new system will work in 1.05 that may be less of an issue now.

As to all the discussion about luck, that is all greek to me. I have two kinds of luck...bad or none...so if finding legendaries involves some luck I am up the proverbial creek. ;-) I was once playing seven stud in a casino in Vegas and had aces full against a little bitty oriental lady (who looked just a few days shy of 100) who had nothing showing. She had three 7's in the hole to match the one showing. Lost quite a bit on that hand. Very next hand I ended up with four Jacks. She had four Queens. So, I suspect it wll be a loooooong time before I find 15...or even 2...legendaires in three hours.

i started playing immediately after patch 1.03 dropped, and got 4 set pieces in one act 2 run after not getting one in the 300 hours prior to that. I posted about it as well and a few others experienced the same thing. No legends or set in hundreds of hours, then boom, multiple legendaries right after the patch hit. Maybe its rng but it was very odd.

I found 2 legendaries the whole time playing d3 until the other day where I found 3?!?
Oh-my-goodness! It must be a conspiracy to control the drops!!

I call bs cause I'v gotten 3+ legendarys in the same small day of farming before. You say you never got this many legendary items before my guess is because you probably farmed way harder on the day before the patch. It's a case of thinking you'll get more legendary on that day and finding one that confirms your belief and then because of that you farmed harder imo. You say you farmed for about the same amount of time each day but isn't it possible that you actually just farmed much more effectively that day? Effective farming plus rng can mean lots of good items.

legendary / set items are ur easter egg.. they are randomly placed through out the acts, once u find one.. the next one is randomly placed in an act, and is given a certain amount of time to find... if u dont play keeps all day yeah... you will find a legendary.. the randomness resets placing ur next one in a different act / location and gives u a certain amount of time to find it.. but if u never go anywhere else.. u will have to wait until the odds of the item being in keeps and being in the monster / barrel u destroy... why limit ur odds.. i cant even count how many legendary / set items i find... if u dont find it in the keeps going to act 1 , 2, 4 u will find it eventually..

Location X time X item/monster X item type = legendary / set

location = random
item / monster = random
time = constant

if your legendary is in act 1 X 120 mins X item/monster, and u never go there, u wont get that item, but it moves onto the next random roll

random isn't random?

Random most certainly is not random.

Probability is probability.

Let's say there are factors beyond RNG that affect the way loot rolls. Posting about it 5 billion times isn't going to change it. I think if blizzard was going to go "OH NO THEY FOUND OUT SET EVERYTHING BACK TO NORMAL" they would have.

Personally I don't buy any of it. I have dry spells, and I have good days. Am I the only person fine with that?

Slot machines, video games, and casino lcd machines all have the one thing in common. They are not random.

If you think a slot machine is random, go back to vegas, they love people like you.

All of these things are designed to work a certain way, and to make the owner money.

That really is the root of the issue.
I may have 10m or so gold collected according to the profile. All of which was spent playing the game.

Without a descent drop to wear or sell you can't progress.

Unless you buy gold/items for real money.

So, ask yourself who bought that first uber item for mega gold? If we can't make that kind of gold in normal game play no one could have.

The game is ruined for those of us that can't/refused to pay real money.
And those of you that do pay are driving the cost of play beyond it's limit.

There are those that find uber items every run. That's great. If there were no one to buy it they would be vender trash because you can't use it or have one better.

Soon there will be only 2 types of players. Those that find and those that pay. All the rest of us will be gone.

Blizzard should look closely at the disparity of drops between players. It's a code issue. It can be fixed.

Your definition of good must be way different than mine. I need 500+ mil to upgrade individual pieces. Thats a bit past the inflation figure for 30 mil.
