Diablo® III

15 legendaries in 3 hours = CONTROLLED DROPS

Why would you be complaining? Not all people are rich like you. This game used to be stupid, the rich just keep getting richer and the poor just give up and quit. At least with X2 rates and lvl 58+ drops in inferno new players will have a chance to drop some decent equips.

I agree with this. I believe, there is remote control of drops so that AH does not immediately go haywire. For example, in this patch, legendary drops are twice better but they could tweak it in a few days or few weeks when they feel whether it is too good and might affect the AH negatively.

Negatively, like a flood of similar items that no one buys. If there's a new patch, there's more people logging in and Blizzard might want to give better drops so that the casuals get a chance with better drops or get to buy new items in the AH.
Once the players has dwindled, drops also get less which could be felt by regular/serious farmers. It's like slowing down the economy when the game is slow so that the AH doesn't tank with low prices.

Regarding blacklisting some accounts for drops, I believe that is far from possible because the company seems lacking at manpower. Their support is bad where everyone puts all issues "Answered" every time they give a reply which appears to me that each agent is maximized. Bots also fill the game which appear to me that there's less than enough people to catch and contact these accounts where they grow faster than Blizz stopping them.

As one of the unluckiest people to ever play this game, I can verify the op comments. Got a vile ward with non crap stats in the first 30 mins of playing the new patch.

its a glitch, my friend is getting legendaries at an INSANE rate, including his 300 mf getting 9 rares at 1nv...

As others in this thread have mentioned, having a “hot streak” of good drops, or by contrast, a streak of poor drops can happen because the probability of each roll is not tied to the previous one. Ketchup offered a good example of this:

Do you believe flipping a coin 100 times will yield exactly 50 heads and 50 tails? maybe a coin might give you close 50/50. when you include more things in the calculations, it gets ugly from there. probabilities do not remember what you rolled before. only at the instant when it rolls.

Because of this, you are not guaranteed any set number of Legendaries, set items, or rares within a certain period of time. Bear in mind that MF affects the quality of drops you’ll see, but not necessarily the number of drops you get from a particular kill (you can find out more about Magic Find here). Thus having high MF and being able to quickly and effectively clear challenging monsters will certainly aide your cause, but at the end of the day, the “luck” players have can vary widely.

Blatantly lies to everyone on the forums. I honestly don't care who you are or what you say, I am not retarded, the drops are definitely controlled by something. I am not sure exactly what controls them but they are most definitely controlled. Your word "random" is an illusion and you use this word random to justify your explanations on the drops. Someone randomly gets lucky, you randomly roll crap affixes, my wizard randomly finds barb gear and never nice wizard gear, randomly.
How about this Blizzard, some people have a life and jobs, why not design a game that revolves around those people instead of revolving a game around people who can play this game 24/7 eight days a week? You literally designed a game not even people with no lives can progress in anytime soon. It's like you think your content and game is so cool and fun you think you can make people play it for 3 years straight. Just pathetic, you people lie, nerf peoples charactors, change stats around, change drop rates always for the worst. Your business and leadership skills there at that company is just completely pathetic.

To every1 whining at complaing their drops are bad....
You just suck at farming....

example: i only play at evenings and weekends....
last week i was 1 day off, so i played the whole day. I found 8 legendaries in about 5-6 hours. Highest quantity ive found.....so I guess its safe to say that kiddies who are playing during day time, are getting better drops becuz overday u find legendaries more often...

lmao....some of you guys have 1 big problem..

You believe ur own lies and bull!@#$...

i would agree, on the last day before the patch i found 6 ledges one of which sold for 55mil which is by far my best loot.

furthermore, since i have experienced poor find through out this game i have learnt to trade well on AH, i stick to one item with certain parameters, before the patch went live the number of these things going up there was amazing, i actually couldnt do any runs because i had to monitor the AH so intensivly.

i have been flipping this item everyday for over a month and have never seen anything like this.

i made 15mil in just a few hours :) and increased my stock of said items, hopefully they have not completly devalued by the time i get home from work^^

totally agree with OP

I find it very hard to take you seriously when you lack the ability to properly form a sentence, let alone express a coherent thought.

Edit: I don't know what to think about the idea of controlled drops... part of me wants to believe it just to explain the weeks of pain where nothing ever drops. Another part of me wants to deny it because it really makes very little sense, as even the appearance of such a system causes such an uproar.

RNG is the devil, seriously.

I totally agree both with you and the OP. However i believe that an account gets blacklisted not because the owner whines on the forums but because you dare to sell cheap on RMAH.

And to ppl that deny controlled drops I say : go to school and learn all over again about statistics and how they work.

I used to get decent drops every day, until 5 weeks ago, that i stopped getting ANY useful drops in a matter of 1 day. That may be statistically possible but it's not propable at all. Statistics are all about AVERAGE and my experience with D3 loot is anything BUT average.

If indeed blizzard is not controlling loot then I think the problem is with RNG itself. It's simply flawed. RNG should not be server - wide but per account and it should be dynamically adjustable so that no1 could get 15 legendaries in 3 hours or no legendaries in 200 hours.

However, such an approach would make D3 a game and not a Casino, as it stands now. And as we all know a casino is much more addictive than any simple game.

I am currently wearing about 8 legendaries on my 42 zerker and I probably get about three or four per hour for various classes. Loot is fun!

Oh wait, that's Torchlight 2.

It is difficult because they don't have time/money for it. I mean, why spend time on users/players if they can control the drops server wide using simple codes or commands.
Like, in a good way, they could control the drops of class specific items such as quivers or mojo's. Those players with good drops are those with at least 200k dps since they spend little time to do complete runs.

In a bad way, I see they can worsen drops whenever there's few log-ins to the game. Recently, I keep noticing drops from elites with a single rare item which should be at least two rare items. I keep track of all my legendary/set items since 1.0.4 and I noticed it has been slowing down. Before, I can manage two or three legendary items at each, low paragon level. Now that I've hit 40+ paragon levels, it's like just one legendary item per level. I 've gone through no legendary drops at all for a few 30 plus levels.

I have yet to see how 1.0.5 works for me.

why flagging some accounts is difficult? just they can develop drop rate as

DropRate = DropRate * user_drop_rate

where user_drop_rate=1.00 for regular users... and a tiny application to update this value (will take 5 minutes to write that app) It can be set to 0.0 - some big numbers (2 means double rate for that user, 0.0 means garbage collector). So writing that app is 5 minutes work and to use that app is 3 clicks away. Open the app copy paste user id, search button, set new value and click update button... I am a software engineer, and to me this does not look too complicated to build and use :)
And that updated values can be reset on every major fix! 1 simple query:

update drop_rates set user_drop_rate=1.0 where user_drop_rate<1.0

meaning reset all but the ones already set high, do not touch! those are lucky bastards or fanbois, they should get better drops all the time :) an awarding system for fanbois who defend Blizzard in forums for example...

Oh wait, that's uniques - not legendaries. The legendary drops are harder to get in TL2 compared to D3 and they are equally crap lmao. Oh yeah or you could just create them with console commands. FAIL.

sorry. 15 legendaries in 3 hours is just too much. 1 legendary each 12 minutes.

6 hours played last night...no legendaries, no set items, no items even worth AHing on MP4. Nothing's changed...rich get richer...those of us without good gear and luck...continue to get the constant short end of the straw.

Read posts like these, saw it was patch day, logged in and boom: In 4 or so hours on my WD I got Zunimassa's Vision and a Skorn, managed to nab all 3 keys, and the plan (third key and plan took a few extra runs) burned through the uber run and got an organ first try.
All of this on Monster Power 3.

At first I was excited, but after a while I totally felt like I had been handed all these drops simply because it was patch day. I get the feeling in the months to come these keys are going to drop much less, and the organs much, much less. Plus, I have never found a single solitary legendary that was worth spit, and only 1 set piece since release date, and, on patch day, nab 2 of the most sought-after end-game pieces =FOR THE CLASS I WAS PLAYING= ....?

Must be a conspiracy...

I mean they upped the drop rates and as soon as i logged in and started playing the drop rates were indeed upped.
