Can you post the crash report ID for this? I tried this and I didn't crash.

My first guess on this would be a corrupted battle.net cache file somewhere.

These are safe to delete and will be rebuilt over time as you play. You can locate the battle.net cache folder in the following location:


You can safely delete the Battle.net folder highlighted above. If this persists, you may have a corrupt Diablo 3 Cache file. You can find that folder here:

/Applications/Diablo III/Data_D3/PC/MPQs/Cache

Deleting the Cache folder will force the game to rebuild all of its caches. Be aware that the cache size is 4.3 Gigabytes, and will take between 15-60 minutes on average to rebuild depending on the speed of your installation location's drive. If you installed Diablo 3 on an SSD, expect a total cache rebuild time of approximately 25 minutes.
