Diablo® III

Crash after 1.0.5 update

I upgraded to 10.8 and tried D3 as is. It froze up on the screen to enter a game.

I tried it with 7 cores and hardware multithreading off, and the game worked for a few minutes with no crash. I play hardcore so I did not test it extensively yet.

@Damoot- Your issue is the know issue about systems with greater than 8 cores are crashing. This is happening on both Mac and PC. I'll try to find out the status of this tomorrow when everyone is back into the office.

@Septicor- Are you getting an error report ID when you crash?

After patch 1.0.5
And all my video settings are very low, windowed, i get all that.

I play for 5 minutes and Diablo III tries to instant turn off my computer and crash.
I know my graphics card is not over heating.

How do I know Diablo III is trying to crash, because my Universal Power supply alarm goes off. If I do nothing, after 1 minute, the system crashes to off as the UPS loses control of computer. If I quickly exit Diablo III entirely, the crash does not occur. The alarm stops, and everything is fine. I can even re-enter Diablo III and do the same all over again.

I did already try and delete the battle.net and other caches as instructed.

What to do? I can only play for 5 minutes, user sucks.

Blizzard support, can you help, or just admit that I'll never fix this and I can go on to other games.

Thanks

Can you create a new thread for your issue? This crash sounds way different than the ones reported here, since it is a system wide crash. Posting in a new thread ensures we can cater solutions to you and not mis the solutions for others.

The patch today fixed my setup. I set cores to max and multi-threading on, and it worked fine.

game crashes when i come to first group

This seems it is crashing when trying to render something. This may be due to playing on an unsupported video card, as the crash indicates that.

Other things you may want to try is to reupdate with the 10.6.8 combo update and see if a fresh driver fixes the issue or a full uninstall/reinstall.

These are probably the best suggestions I can offer based on the crash and the system specs.

This crash doesn't show data, as it seems to be missing. Only thing I can see is that it is on Windows.

Have you tried posting in the Windows forums for assistance? This forum is specially for Mac. Unless the crash report is off, and you're really on a Mac.

Game has become unplayable, was working fine at start of patch and not I can't enter game for more than 2mins and I crash... Do not blame my hardware for your companies crappy and unprofessional in game developing please, I would like a solution to the problem, not excuses. Note, I can still play the game completely fine while in Bootcamp running Windows 7, so clearly the problem is not my computer but something to do with Mac OSX.

Have you posted your crash report ID, so I can view the log to see what is causing the crash?
