Diablo® III

GTX680? Stuttering? VSync?

Okay so I finally wanted to give D3 a second try,

last time I played it I was using a GTX260 and it was working okay I guess,

but now with my new Zotac GTX680 it stutters EVERY few seconds

I tried searching the forums and google, but even though there are overwhelmingly many threads and posts about this subject, I couldn´t really find a solution.

Can someone tell me the optimal settings both in-game and in the nVidia Control Center for smooth but highest quality possible gameplay?

rest of my pc-specs:
i5 2500k (stock)
8gb ram
no ssd
driver 306.97

Funny, I know this post is vastly outdated but I seem to have exactly the same problem.

Driver 320.18 atm, but it happens with all the drivers.

Stuttering and framedrop at big fights even though this quadcore and gtx680 should be able to handle ten times more intense stuff than this.

The problem is lessened by turning vsync off, going in windowed (fullscreen) and getting 1 refresh at the control panel of nvidia. Lessened is not enough though, this is very frustrating to play with.

Thanks for the info, looked into it but none of the offered solutions fixed the problem I'm having. I'm at least now 90% sure it's hardware related as I'm also lagging in other games like GW2 and SC2. Cool with a 2 month old pc huh...

Anyway thanks again I'll get back if I have new hardware with the same problem.
