What's up guys. What did I miss in the past days? Are you happy with the PTR changes? what skill if any dropped your jaw?
For me cyclone strike/impolsion still gets the prize :)
:O well for PvP I havent used cyclone much ( the cost seems too high to sustain)
Exploding palm, wave of light, seven sided strike, dashing strike and serenity are my favorites so far :D.
I killed plenty of players already with those ( around 300-400 kills or so), so far its been very fun to test skills against other ones, but dueling gets old very quickly with the same persons ( thats why I set a kill goal of 15 kills, first to get it wins :D and we count them manually).
About PTR over all im not sure yet as I havent farmed anything ( just pure PvP), but I have enjoyed it so far.
I didnt get your Nocturnal comment, is Nocturnal and Nameless the same person? or what ?
Just came across a threat created from the first Nocturnal and found it funny (and strange) that there are two out there.
Master Nocturnal's monk is called Nameless so Colt the answer is yes, but there s another Nocturnal out there with a different battletag.
Things I'd like to be addressed on the upcoming patch :
Exploding palm 1 : wouldn't it be nicer to have a longer range by 2-3 yards and also target the weaker enemy by default? (I m not lazy, but when small in size mobs gather around a bigger one it's impossible to target them in the heat of battle without breaking formation and this contradicts the point of being gathered for the explosion to count).
Exploding palm 2 : Essence burn is unaltered and imo the explosion is pittyful in damage since in my experience it can't crit.
Wave of light : pillar and explosive light deal the same damage as before the patch; wouldn't that render them useless? Especially the pillar! I say buff them also to match the other runes and maybe 3 delayed explosions for the pillar? It's the final rune and it not reliable at all when in rambo mode, too expensive to spam it through kiting and overall clunky.
Dashing strike : my eye caught some previous statements that it's core mechanic is to be altered or something; did anybody notice any difference besides the damage buff?
WotHF : the second strike is a waste damn it and I don't see any intention of fixing it nowhere.
Considering that there will be a Q&A on Tuesday 29/01 and we get only one question per post, I think we should organize our participation.

I agree with everything man those are nice suggestions,
Exploding palm 2-3 radius would be soooooo cool and useful ( its very hard to hit a fast moving target already)
Wave of light pillar is useles as it is now, not only the dmg its mediocre but the explosion delay its so easy to avoid (just move a couple yards and you are fine). I think the only way to upgrade it is either that the explosion range is invisible to enemies ( so they dont avoid it so easily and serves as a suprise tactic) , reducing the explosion time and increasing the number of explosions too.
I think we should focus on dashing strike for the questions, as they promised they would rework it for more movement/displacement purposes and as it is now they just buffed the damage.
I think they should grant the whole dashing distance regardless if theres an enemy or not ( or a percentage of it like 70% of the distance, to compete with wizard teleporting and barb movement speed buffs when there are no enemies) proccing the rune buff so you can possibly do a series of dashes to empty areas with increased speed/dodge etc that would be hell fun.
I woud sacrifice all the damage it does for that extra distance and mobility.

The Book of Pisces.

No, that build is not supposed to have a Mantra, just like the other 2 builds in that section that don't. the correct skill and rune for that full support build, is Inner Sanctuary - Circle of Protection.

it only counts towards the DoT,
the explosion blast will always deal the exact damage percent% of that monster's HP, no increase.
So I tested this again right now to make sure,
and also recorded the frame, so I could slow it down and see the slow motion damage number that pops up on the explosion.
So I logged in game, equipped a Madstone with +Damage to Exploding Palm by 13%.
saw a zombie in Act 1, MP3
used my DBZ power measurement glass meters, (pressing V)
and saw that its HP was 185044.
So I took out a calculator to find what 30% of that HP would be.
and it was 55513.
Then I looked at my inventory,
to make sure I did have the Madstone with + 13%damage to Exploding Palm equipped.
Then I rolled the camera, reduced that zombie's HP,
and then lured another innocent zombie to it...
After that, I put Exploding Palm non-runed on the zombie with 185044 HP, killed it,
stopped the camera, opened film, zoomed in and slowed frames.
and saw that when it exploded,
The zombie apocalypse only killed 55513 lives, no increase.
SO I did this 3 more times, now with runes. And it was still no change, no increase.
