Just crafted 10 6 prop chest armors... items 1,3 were identical, not even sequential items! RNG or bug?

I'd have to see what the others look like before I'd say RNG.
However, a horrible RNG is classifiable as a bug.. So, yes. It is a bug related to the RNG. Personally, my understanding is that the RNG they use is suppose to have a classic bell-curve look. ie - you are most likely to get a 'middle ground' result than you are to get one at either extreme. But, that should only apply to the numbers, not to the choice of stats. As a result, you will naturally have a lot of "duplicates" when you have the same set of stats. This becomes especially true when the number being generate for a stat is actually an incremental values. ie code for STAT VALUE is calculated as {base value} +- RNG(-1,1) * {increment} And, if you "cast to integer" too early... you will only have three possible values... with the middle one being dominant.... causing mass duplication due to a bug. |

Thanks, that made good sense.
This is a decent bell curve example... http://www.aaronburke.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Web-site-quality-distribution.png where rolling the most terrible lvl 63 is almost as rare as a the greatest of rolls... but not equal. |
