My husband once owned a large game server company before the recession and they never let their servers go down for this long... I can't imagine why blizzard does not disclose the reasons for the outage. Thats irresponsible and BAD customer service. And although they may have "millions" of players they lose customers everytime this happens. sooner or later a point is reached when people just get fed up and move on to something else. Im sure for instance when Call Of Duty releases it new version this game will suffer huge customer defections for no other reason than it will be less of a hassle to play something else that may or maynot be as good but at least will be more reliable..
steps off soapbox
So I realize that hosting, maintaining and supporting online games isn't easy to do, but seriously? It would be nice if Blizzard was transparent about what actually goes on during maintenance, because to break something so badly that additional downtime is needed as a result of "maintenance", for me, is ridiculous.
