So, first of all I'm french so I'm sorry for my average level of expression in English.
I'm posting here beacause I have been told to by a blue on the French European forum.
Now that's done I can talk about this combat bug that a lot of people are still experiencing...
I have long list (and non exhaustive) of threads talking about this bug (the list is at the end of the post).
I will talk about my own experience of monk and my readings of other posts but, as the title of the post says, it is also true for Barbarians and their skill Furious Charge.
During a fight, often in an elite fight, when I try to use the Dashing Strike skill of my Monk I sometimes get stuck.
In that "stuck mode" my monk is invisible (only a blinking light) and I'm uncapable of :
- using any skill, buttons does engage but nothing happens, its like when you have a cooldown.
- moving, when I try to there like a "rubberband effect" after only one step.
- picking up loot, but I can interact with the inventory and drop an item or drink a potion.
- dying, I'm still targettable by ennemies and my life can reach 0 despite the fact that's not killing me.
- using a town portal.
The only solution left is to quit the game and that mean, when you play in solo, that you will lose your Nephalem Valor's Stacks...
[EDIT]"Soultion" for monks only : you can use Seven-Sided Strike to get unstuck.
When does this bug occur? I don't really know because it's kinda random.
However, I have noticed that the bug is more likely to occur when I encounter an elite with a Damage on Time affixe like dessecration.
And it's happening to me a lot of times when I am stressed by the battle, so I suppose that trying to use a lot of skills "at the same time" have an influence.

You see that a lot of people are experiencing this issue so I think this bug deserves, at least, to be added in the in the Known Issues List.
Don't hesitate to post. And I really hope a blue will acknowledge this really annoying issue.

This is extremely annoying bug as it happens a lot when I try to use a merciless assault build (which happens to be my favorite farming build).
I've noticed the most issues with this when facing a elite pack with fire chains, or a pack that usually attacks fast and spawnt with the fast affix.
As far as I can tell it has something to do with charging right as a dodge animation goes off or a dodge happening during the charge.
Speaking of dodge, why have a a dodge animation that interupts your attack if you aren't going to implement a faster hit recovery like D2... its sad a game with such potential gets dragged down by so many amatuerish oversights.
Nice list. Will they ever at least acknowledge the problem? It has been around for so long, mentioned so many times...
I guess they are probably ignoring it as it would be hard to fix that kind of synch issue in that kind of online-only game design.
They said that they fixed it a while back, but haven't actually accomplished anything. It happens to my monk all the time, but 7-sided strike will get you "un-stuck." However, if your health dropped to 0 while stuck, you die instantly after using the skill. I only had issues with this 1 time before they "fixed" the bug, and much more now that they said they fixed it.

Yeah that would be good for this issue to be acknowledged by someone.
And if they can't actually fix this bug they could grant us a "pause system" like in multiplayer, or at least a suicide command that would allow us not to quit the game and "just" die once...
Won't be an optimal solution but it would prevent us from frustation.
This has happened to me twice as barb. I noticed the second it was after a charge with merciless assault. I was against at the very least one 3 pack soul lasher with waller and another 3 with illusionist.
The resulting state was being unable to die, cast spells, or town portal. In the first case I could whirlwind away (doing no damage) but I would rubber band back when I let go of whirlwind.
In both cases I had a friend hold the instance so I could leave game and resume back into it.
The two spots were crater 2 and bridge near spyglass quest.

It annoys me sooo much that they haven't fixed this bug yet....It's all over forums and was reported sooo long time ago.
Also a /suicide /kill button as mentioned in one of the posts here is a GREAT temporary solution....Better than having to leave game.

I just had it for the first time, pretty scary to be in a group of fire chain and invisible and stuck.
I screamed over teamspeak at my team mates and they saved my !@# while i drank potions and casted serenity as much i could. Luckily i got out - puh on hc of course... i didn't know about the bug...
.... and there goes dashing strike for me.
so no escape skills for hc monks, tempest rush is equally broken with perma rubberband.
i've moved to farming on my monk instead of barb because of this bug. It only seems to happen when encountering elites/rares/keywardens and is not in only specific spots, its completely random for me, just needs a bush, some edge in a wall and the like.
I am also experiencing this bug. Here is my thread that you can add to the original post:
I propose a simple solution
1) have an ingame command where you can /suicide so you can kill yourself and force a respawn. This way you don't lose your NV stacks.
It happened again. I hate losing 5 stacks of NV just because I have to leave game due to this bug.
I'm so fed up I'm removing Dashing Strike right now. This is getting way too annoying.
