Always make sure to clear your path through your way so you can safely kite back in open and safe land to fight a bad pack.

(You don't want to go in unexplored land while kiting a bad pack.)

Is it good that I automatically do this without thinking about it anyway? I got stuck in the wrong end of the hallway in the ice caverns the other day, and actually sat around waiting for leap to come off c/d before moving again (somehow enchantress was tanking those stupid bulls...).

don't play drunk

Heh.

I somewhat object to this because playing drunk can be fun. It's perfect advice for a main, though. If you like to play drunk, though, reserve a character for only that and know that that character has a higher death probability ;)

(When I've had a couple and want to play I tend to run my DH)

*I* shouldn't play drunk... :)

make a "drunk" char if you are enjoy the booze

If you play solo, I strongly recommend that you get a Maximus for your Enchantress. That Demon Slave it spawns literally saved my life once when I got jumped by 3 packs in one of Zoltan Kulle's dungeons.

Because the Demon Slave draws virtually all monster threat, except whatever the player himself is attacking, when I had to turn and flee, nothing chased me because the Demon was holding it all. This Demon Slave is an awesome tank!

And if you gear your Enchantress up with enough Int to do good damage (at least 6.5k dps or more) and solid survivability, she'll save your life if you ever DC in trash mobs. (I've survived 3 DC's so far, knock on wood.)

So, if you DC it's a win-win all the way around: mobs are beating on the Demon Slave instead of you, and she can finish them off (if you're not playing too high an MP level, and don't happen to DC in a pack.)

Stay close to your comrades in group play; Remember MP goes up when there is more people in a party.

Learn and always remember every single location that lunatic exploding demons spawn (act 2 and act 3) and be very careful in those areas. Make sure to cast ahead if necessary to aggro them from a distance instead of body aggro that puts you in very serious danger.

I ****ing hate lunatics. I will reroll any map that has them in a2, and I will just leave the dungeon in a3 unless I'm progressing my very first time through keep 2. My friends like to laugh about it b/c I'll face tank bulls in the ice caverns on mp3 all day long, but I don't care. I run like a little girl when I see those stupid bast ards, and live to fight another day.

hahaha he does too, but hey, better we both live than one of us try and be a bigshot lunatic killing machine

Double check that you didn't swap your gear into your inventory before you sell.

MP is set by party leader and doesn't change regardless of number of party members.

Monster Damage/Health is set by MP and raises accordingly to each MP level.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/7540457/

Only monster health increases with more party members and I believe this is roughly 70-75% extra health per party member.

My tip (if not covered already):
Do not be too proud/cocky to reset the game if you run into packs with absurdly bad groups of affixes. Live to fight another day. Not dying is winning in itself.

Have more than one defensive skill on tap (in addition to Potions) and be comfortable using them under extreme duress.

Play a build that works for you. Even if people say a build is "the best", if you can't use it, you won't go far with it.

never solo. You will die soloing whereas if you play with teammates they can save you in situations you might otherwise die in

Take advantage of the AH. The first time you level a character you can buy enough cheap upgrades to make it a lot easier. The second time you can have fun with much better gear (low level legendaries and -18 requirement items) and faceroll MP10. :)

Get the best gear you can afford... and then double it.
