Problem with an authentication module

I am trying to log into D3 on my Mac and i am getting the following error:

There was a problem with an authentication module (error 14001).

I have deleted the Battle.Net Cache folder which didn't resolve the issue.

The game works fine on my PC's but i would like to play it on my MBP.

Has anyone experienced this error?

This is something that isn't relating to the Battle.net cache. Here is what I found out about that error:

14001 ERROR_HTTP_COULDNT_CONNECT Download failed because the host refused a connection.
Have you tried to do a DNS flush and see if that helps?

Thanks for the response.

I've now flushed the DNS and i'm also trying a different network and am still receiving the same error.

Weird...

Can you try creating a new admin account on your Mac and see if this is a user permission issue? Something is preventing the data during the login to be cached.

Thanks again for your help.

I don't have any security software installed on the Mac.

Should I try doing a Reinstall of D3 as i haven't tried this since the 1.0.6 patch.

Can you send me your system information? This may help me see what the issue is.

Obtaining your System Information and system.log
Snow Leopard (10.6) and older versions of OS X
    1. Hold the Option Key and choose System Profiler from the Apple Menu
    2. When the System Profiler is finished gathering its data, click "File" then "Save As..."
    3. Add your name to the filename, and save it to your desktop for easy location. Make sure the file format is "System Profiler 4.0 (XML)"

Lion (10.7)
    1. Hold the Option Key and choose System Information from the Apple Menu
    2. When the System Information is finished gathering its data, click "File" then "Save As..."
    3. Add your name to the filename, and save it to your desktop for easy location.

Obtaining your system.log
    1. Using Finder, Navigate to /Applications/Utilities and open Console
    2. Click system.log on the left side bar.
    3. On the menu bar, click File, and select Save a Copy As. Make sure the file is saved to the desktop for easy location.

Submitting your system files
    1. Open a new email message, and attach the items as an attachment.
    2. Send the email to macsupport@blizzard.com with the subject as "Attn: TonyM". Make sure you include the Thread title and URL address. This way it gets routed to me so I can take a personal look.

Please note: This method is only used for sending information after files are requested for additional review. This is not to be used a a form of contact, as this box is monitored only when files are requested. No replies are sent from here.

This same thing only happened to me today after I played for two month on the game. The message I got is "There was a problem with an authentication module. (Error 879253)". Please help.

if you stay in us server -> change to eu sv - > login -> created a char -> log out -> change to us sv -> log in as normal - > solved problem

D3 is !@#$ed up, seriously. I got Error 14009, there was a problem with an authentication module. Please help me, i have tried everything, and nothing works.

with us server i got "There was a problem with an authentication module"

when i change into eu server i got "there was an error downloading agreement"

should i try the asian? because i'm in indonesia.

i tried this also, let me log into Asia first and then Europe but will not let me log into Americans.... tried five times... received the same errors as dakdikduk...

also other accounts worked perfectly from the same game client so i do not recommend re-installing the game client, yet have not come up with a solution
