Diablo® III

You like bad drops?

Nothing much really, if you invest like 20 hours of gameplay into a game you should have at least maybe 1 Best in Slot gear when you're at the peak of your level. (Level 60). MAYBE 1. If not something adjacent.

Getting to 60 is like maybe 40 hours? If you start from scratch. then 20 more in for each slot that's quite a lot. Yet nowhere near it. don't forget there's 4 other classes to play afterwards too so that's well over 500+hours just to make it happen on your own.

D3 is really a turnoff here after playing other RPGs because there's no manipulation of your gears ever. It's just replacement. You can tell me to leave all you like but I'm here to discuss not fight with !@#$% saying gtfo.

So why do you care if it's "best in slot" anyway? You don't need anything close to best in slot to clear everything there is in this game. In fact, you wouldn't even know what "best in slot" was if you couldn't look at other peoples gear and Blizzard didn't tell you the max roll for each affix.

The whole point of this system is that you can grind forever and still have a chance to find upgrades. If everything you have is "best in slot", there's no point in playing anymore.

Because there's nothing else to do in this game apart from that; chasing an upgrade from a monster that's holding it. It's very little on other things to do. Grind forever may be one thing but I like finding things to be combined/enhanced/upgraded, not replaced.

Ooh, no, that's not Diablo at all.
20 hours is just a warm-up ;)

Seriously, 20 hours of farming (at end-game) should result in something very good for most of the times.
It doesn't have to be a perfect drop, but at least something that is either near perfect (let's call it the 90..97% stuff) or some leg or set item that's at least a minor update to a good one you're already using.

In D3, this can happen, but mostly it doesn't.
The variables are too wide spread.
While 6 stats can be godly, a 7th can be so terrible, the item immediately becomes useless.
Bad design if you ask me.

20 hours being a warm up is pretty hard to even accomplish with a busy schedule of 50 hours a week occupied by class and work. Being reduced to about only 10 hours of free time a WEEK. ( I still have to eat sleep and do the essentials and homework).
The stat system in Diablo3 just doesn't work. It's all or nothing basically. There is no inbetween of fairly good because the other stats to other classes are fairly useless compared to their main stat or vit.

Yes the minor upgrades are fine. It's that the drops past that just become a lot smaller for upgrades by a large %. There's no variety of choice or upgrades or things like that that's why I ask what's so fun about finding bad drops, it doesn't make sense. The only sense of progression is Paragon Levels but even then that's just an extension of 1-60 subtract skill unlocking.

That doesn't have to be something negative.
While levelling or farming with one char, you can find items that are good for another.
Go level a new char, get it to inferno. Once you're there, you could have found something useful for the first char.. and so on.
See it as a party of heroes working together to boost themselfs.

But, as I said above, D3 really needs a few more things to do as to keep the player interested.

Getting to Inferno 5x over is pretty gruelling.
I hope if an expansion comes out level 60 chars don't have to go through normal nightmare hell and inferno just for the Act in the expo that'd be pretty sad.

If people are finding BiS item every 20hours this game would be dead months ago, sorry OP but no one wants to play a Boring Game where you can get godly in less than a week.

You talk about bad drops?

Here is some of my loot, some are transactions months ago.

Also my Belt and my Helm, not to mention a couple of my Barbs gear and all of my Wizards gear self acquired.

Here my sales this month;

This one found yesterday still up on the GAH for sale.

These were my sales back in Aug, when I just started my DH with MF gear;

And many other items I've found. . .

Sorry OP I don't get what you're saying about BAD DROPS, as long as you know what you're doing, and you know the best ways to farm you'll have consistent results, like I have and many other people.

So I suggest instead of making ridiculous threads like this one, maybe you should try playing again, or just move on and stop Trolling, it's kind of sad to see people like you, when I got tired of playing a game I just uninstalled and played another game.

I don't lurk around the forums spreading negativity to others, and your thread is obviously a poor attempt to get attention.

Maybe you should just go out and make friends in real life or go get a girlfriend/wife or if you have one spend more time with her or your family.

That's just you, and may I ask how many hours do you spend a week playing? If you didn't read I don't have the luxury of spending 300+hours farming and sifting through garbage for weeks on end just to get good items. My post isn't any less relevant just because I haven't played for months. At least I still know what's going on. Or maybe I don't? That's why I'm posting derp. And you for one I know has some kind of strange animosity towards me for everything I've posted on when I can't even play in class which would be stupid. Posting on a forum is a lot less tasking.

well, I don't like bad drops but I have found many , many good drops in my several hundred hours with the game and those good drops are just that much more sweet when they are rare and hard to find. of course, it's a balance .. I want drops to be rare so that they remain exciting but I don't want them to be so rare that I can't find any. personally, I think that blizz has struck a good balance in 1.05. my opinions are only based on my experiences and the experiences of my friends but I am hearing mostly the same thing from those (reliable) sources.

I concur with this statement. Good drops are rare, but they do happen. I am content. In DII I spent _years_ looking for certain uniques to drop and never saw one... I hope the best of the best remains difficult to find in DIII as well.

I've found 1 mediocre piece of Monk equipment in my time playing (300-400 hrs?). I've found legendary and set items usable for any other class except my own. guess blizzard just wants me to use AH

300 Hours? LoL that's barely even the tip of the iceberg, Diablo is a farming game(PVP is just a bonus), it is meant to be played for thousands of hours to get the best of the best results, people played Diablo2 for years, you think those years were only around 300 Hours?

Just like DudleyDR said on the post above, he played for years and never got the unique he wanted, but it never stopped him from playing because that's what makes people going, the goal to get those End Game gear which should be very hard to acquire. Great items are already available and dropping most of the time, they're not the BEST but they are great items regardless, enough to finish the game and farm content, since Inferno has been nerfed many times already.

If you're a casual player, playing what 3-6 hours a week? Forget getting all BiS gear, those are for the people who will put thousands of hours into playing this game.

OP, I'm not going to even attempt to teach statistics to the innumerate, as it's more frustrating than I can bear. Google "RNG Diablo 3" to read up on the MATHEMATICAL reason there are "crappy drops" based on FACTS and not whiny !@#$% fests.

I was not aware of that my little newblet.

Consider yourself enlightened. lol
I'll bet even though I haven't played for months there still isn't free travel between acts and broken waypoints that need to be reactivated through quest. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I doubt it.
