Why don't recipes have particular stats?

wouldn't it make more sense to make alot more recipes that are stat specific, maybe not number specific, but i believe you should at least have a rough idea of what an item is going to be before it comes out. i mean, would you buy a house without looking inside, would you pay 20 dollars for a plate of food that's description is varies greatly?
