Why are legendary drop rates DOWN?

Tell me Carnac the Magnificent, If it's jus random then why do people stack MF?

If you play slots at the casino person with most time/coins has bigger chance to win. Of course you may play once and hit jackpot.

It's misleading for people to post thier results as if we should all be expecting 1 to 6 per run.

On MP0, A guy with 300% MF plus 5 stacks of NV for a total MF of 375% is going to have much better "Luck" then a guy running around with 18% MF.

Take that same guy and run MP5 and he gets the 375% plus the MP MF bonuses - so hes around 500% MF.

It's not ALL luck. *If your at 500% MF and have found no legs in 3 runs, then that's bad luck. If you have 18% MF and you have found no legs in 3 runs then your probably 5 runs away from getting your first "expected" leg, NOT on a bad luck streak.

*this is just an example

I found 10 legs in a day this week. Granted only 2 were good, but even if i only found 2 good legs in a day, that's ridiculous!

Legs are not down, they're up. Keys for me are down though, I've gotten 2 keys in over 20 runs at MP3/MP4.

I was finding em on the appropriate average based on % before 1.0.6, however, as with your bad leg luck, it could just be bad luck too.

They are down for me. I was getting 3 at a clip and now after 2 days nothing. OP I agree with you about the reduction in leg drops.

yeah, keys are weird.

I'll run a keywarden (i run them MP5) and if they dont drop a key in the first couple trys i switch to a diff. keywarden and usually get one first try.

I used to just stick with the stingy warden and try to wait out his bad streak, but I ran Act3 dude 5 straight runs one time and he just did not want to budge.

OP won't accept that RNG is the answer so here goes....

Blizzard constantly stealth buffs/nerfs specific skills, drops, runes, passives, monsters, affixes, MF, GF, IP addresses, paragon level ranges and classes.

They have a back end team that works on this 24/7. They factor in details like elite kills, login times, farming routes, and how long since you've last played.

The existence of this team is why PvP has been delayed so long.
Blizzard can't possibly work on patches as quick as we want them to because of the constant stealth nerfs/buffs needed to keep this game going.

I have tested all of this with my 30 friends and am 100% positive I'm right.

Casino's also have the ability to loosen the slots. Hence they can control the odds of you winning. I bet Blizzard does the same.

Sometimes random just sucksss....Some days I will get 3+ legendaries....Then I can go 3 days without getting 1....Then I play one run and get 3......I wish they would make Boss killing more eventful...Guaranteed leg drops from bosses..

+1

drops have significantly decreased both quality and quantity. i believe anyone who has played this game for like, forever, has a say to what they have been noticing and experiencing. believe me when i say you don't even want to sit through hours upon hours on a daily basis getting nothing. in fact, drops have been so bad gold drops are actually starting to look appealing.

anyone who says drops are fine are bots /tinfoil ._.

Tin foil hat.

Agreed, I say it is just a tin foil hat conspiracy again. There will always be a pattern of legendaries dropping like crazy for the first few days when a patch hits. Then it will die down, but that is par for the course and does not suggest that the drop rates were lowered.

Take a four sided dice (1.0.4 drop rate) and roll it. Saying that every time you get a one you get a legendary to drop. Now change that dice roll to a fair coin flip (1.0.5 drop rate). Saying that every time you git heads you get a legendary. Sure when you first start flipping the coin you will get a lot of legendaries to drop. But when tails start coming up more often you will not be seeing as many legendaries. It is just dropping back to an average rate.

Did anyone bother to check to see what type of drop rate for legendaries was before patch 1.0.5? I know that I did and found they were dropping about once every 100 hours. Now they drop at a rate of about once every 50 hours. So I knew that legendaries would not keep dropping at a rate of about once every one to two hours. That would've meant that the drop rate went through the roof.

Took me about 20+ levels to get another item worth more than 200m and I may have earned 200-300m within around 3-4b experience, which isn't a lot IMO. Almost max magic find and I seem to have worse luck.

Drop rates are down the further the patch lasts. The same was in 1.04. First days of 1.05 were crazy. They'll bump drops again after the next real patch comes out. Not counting 1.06

Now it takes hours and hours to get a legen drop. Whether when 1.05 launched after the initial drop pinata craziness, i averaged at least 1 legendary per 2 hrs of playing. Other players on my friends list are reporting the same. Also not getting as many yellows. Drop rates dwindle further down the patch cycle to pretty much nothingness.

@OP

These kinds of topics are getting old now. . . it could have been somewhat an okayish Troll Thread a couple of months ago, but now it's just plain boring and pathetic, because every decent player or frequent forumer know, that Blizzard flags people accounts for each QQ Thread, Nerd Rage Thread or Tin Foil Hat Thread you make, so if you've atleast made 1 of each your drop rate would be nerfed by 300%, 100% for each one topic.

There's your answer OP.

P.S.
The only way to reverse this, is to make a successful highly rated Fan Boy Thread or buy a 250$ item from RMAH.

GL HF!

I got 12 legendaries yesterday and 10 today. The drop rate is actually higher.

Second, the reason brimstone prices went up is not because of drop rates, someone at blizzard hinted that they were going to find a good use for brimestones in one of the next few patches. They said they were going to buff crafting. So all of a sudden there was a huge demand for brimestones since some people wanted to take advantage of low prices before the official patch notes came out and the prices sore.

I wrote this article today about farming act 3. The screen shot shows most of the legendaries I got today and yesterday.
