A Blue posted in the European forums some details we didn't see over here on the American side:

This particular maintenance is mostly addressing some fixes/upgrades to battle.net as far as I am aware... while patch 1.0.7 is on the way for sure, no date has been set for it yet.

"Fixes and upgrades to battle.net" means their connectivity software/online platform, which likely means that once it's widely deployed to hundreds of thousands of users, bugs and issues are going to pop up that might result in disconnects and lag.

I plan to play lowbies and/or work on achievements using my softcore guy tonight, at least for the next few hours until I see how stable this build proves to be.

While it's not a bad idea to be wary - I read "battle.net" in that as likely meaning the literal battle.net website - in other words, the actual forums themselves. There were a ton of issues last week with trying to read posts giving errors and the like.

I would be wary just because it's maintenance day and based on historical information ... who knows what could happen?

Maybe it also had to do with the Error 45008 that was preventing us to report gold sellers ?
