Diablo® III

Back, looking to try again.

Hi all, aussie bloke here looking to get back into D3.

Bloke at work said that D3 patches were getting better and things were being put back into the game that were removed back in the day.

Just read that PVP might be inc, well dueling or whatever.

Logged into the game and noticed all my aus mates havnt been on for over 100+ days, So im interested to find some people to play with, probably HC not sure, don't really feel like jumping back on my old characters for now.

Welcome back,

The patches have improved D3 slightly. Lots of loot drops now, though 99% is still Gurbeege!!! But now you can actually get set pieces and some half decent legendaries, and once in a while a good set/legendary. Inferno is dumbed down so much its a headbutt keyboard = win, Monster power makes it a little more challenging once you go past MP5, under that its still fairly cakewalk for a half decent toon.

I still play but grinding Act 3 for 1000's of times is starting to wear thin, and most my mates are once again moving on to other things. But I still log in from time to time, though only play Softcore, as I can not be bothered dealing with lag spike at the wrong time for Hardcore D3.

But if you haven't played in ages, then yes, its improved ten fold, but it does still get old once you are grinding the same act over and over.

Good hunting and good luck in Hardcore (beware the dreaded lag spike death)

Cheers

Ferret

Similar thing for most other players. Figured out the game is bad so they moved on.

So i can see the forums are still used, but alot less than i remember.

I just saw a post about blizz talking about "still looking into giving aus a server"
Its been what... 8years they have been looking into it.. i don't find that information informative or comforting.

Is this game basically dead now? or is it only kept running by botters?

Game is far from dead believe it or not, still a LOT of people playing daily, but the forums wouldn't want you knowing that.

Key is yes you can use the forums t o meet some people and find people to play with, but don't listen to anything else make up your mind for yourself.

Alright.

Well i played a little today, and looked for groups to play with, but there was about 40 total people playing online.

Is there some hidden gamer list or something?

Ah ok THAT is an issue atm.

With the addition of monster power(hope you read the patch notes!) public games died because blizzard added the monster power system but are not adding it to public games yet. So everyone is doing private games so they can use MP, you can still play with people in MP just need them to be on your friends list.

Best bet is adding people from the forums, is a few threads of people in ANZ looking for others to play with, but yeah the public system is borked till they add MP too it. =(

Thankyou.

Hmm.
Reading the patch notes, lots of stuff in there.

Not really impressed though, its the kind of stuff a game does when it's borderline in trouble.
Couple of new things, some changes that should have been made before the game got nerf'd to hell.
Still no PVP, but maybe some dueling come the new year.

The Monster Power and that Infernal Machine, atleast it gives players a sense of control over their own game now, like how diablo used to be.

Not sure how this works for people in Oceanic regions though, when some still struggle with lag in Infernal on single player.

If anyone in Australia has used the Monster Power or Infernal Machine, could you reply and tell me what it was like, worth it or not?

Hi Awkward and welcome back :)

Yeah i am a fellow aussie as well (Syd). My internet is terrible yet i am used to my ping time. It is NOWHERE near as bad as launch night was or the preceding week.

RE Monster Power : Do whatever monster level you are comfortable in, can run through as fast as you can clearing stuff. Personally after a quick look at your gear i would guess mp2-3 maybe.
A quick tip with monster power : if you are doing act1-2, minimum required for decent rolls is mp1. Act3 or 4 mp0 gives ilvl63 loots.

Machines : to get machines you 1st need to get 3 keys (fields of misery for act1, dag oasis for act3, stonefort for act3) and the Plans for the machine (drops in silver spire level 2 act4). Each time you want to make a machine u will need 1 of each key, the plan need only be farmed once.
To get a key drop, you MUST be in inferno and have 5 stacks of NV. The drop % is worked out depending on your mp level. mp1 = 10%, mp5 = 50%, mp10 = 100% etc.

Using Machines : act1, last quest. get 5 stacks then just above the healer, is a room. Click on it and you can open portals in the "Heretics Abode" sp? Its best to have 3 machines as that way you can go to all ubers in the 1 game . do this on the highest level monster level you can, or can with the group your in.

making hellfire : you will need to buy the hellfire ring from Squirt in act 2 then teach the design to your JEWELLER. Take all 3 organs and go and speak to him. cross your fingers and sing any lucky songs you have and just maybe you will get a trifecta with average damage or similar :)

EDIT : feel free to add me if you like, i can help you get the required parts and get your 1st ring if you want, also have alot of spare gear i can throw your way if you like. Is to good to vendor, yet cant sell on AH. rather give to somebody and it gets a use than rack up my brimstone count (527 so far since 1.05 went live!)
