What kind of damage is "molten"? Is that what you're asking?

Armor and fire resist will slow the damage taken from molten.

Fire resist, armor, elite damage reduction.

this is pretty much my understanding as well on how to reduce the damage from molten, the elite damage reduction is the hardest stat to obtain as it is on pricey gear like tyreals might but when it does show on rares it is together with terrible stats.
good luck

when possible, dodge laterally instead of kiting backwards. the molten enemies will stabilize their positioning more quickly and leave less stacks of molten surface area behind. When you run directly away from them and then turn aggressive to attack them, alot of times the molten AI makes them run past you, leaving multiple stacks of molten on top of your hitbox. That's when the damage per second can start becoming unmanageable.

This.

I believe the damage from molten is 1/2 Fire, 1/2 Physical. So anything that dampens those (like STR/Armor/Fire Resists) will lessen the damage.

But ultimately- you want to be mobile. . .and laterally so. . . as Bnetplayer said.
