This reuqets or idea is probably more work than what would normally be mentioned (like an example would be for a sub-forum or something along those lines). But I was thinking of something that would possibly help the forums in keeping it a little less chaotic.
It is quite simple, I want more options (actions) one can use on post (in particular threads). As it stands, if a thread that should be in the trading forum appears on the General forum, people will simply report it which in all honesty, hurts the thread itself.
When I think of reporting a thread--I think of it being used as a "pay attention to me, it is urgent" situation. As an example, if a thread is getting out of hand or flat out goes against rules, that sort of thing would require quick action. But if someone has a thread dedicated to Sports, Technical support, etc. which is actually innocent, I do not see a need for it to be tarnished.
The issue I see is this, people will report the thread even if it is not their job. Even we people are not even suppose to be reporting for such a thing, it will be done. So the stigma of the hazard sign will still be there. But, if given another option, that would alleviate such a need.
So I was thinking of an option called Request--Instead of just report, we would be able to request (or however else wording it) and an explanation mark would appear (instead of a hazard symbol). It would make mods life easier since urgency wise, to get the important "reports" out of the way, they can be seen first. Than, less focus and need to quickly go to those that have simple request on them.
Now, of course I am sure my idea in terms of specifics is bad--but it is just an example of what I was thinking. Being able to have a request (to move thread), or warning, or something to be used in place of just report (since there is no dedicated one), would help the forums a bit.
Minor request I know, but I want the forum to be better than its current form and although not the most important thing, it might be nice to look into in the future.
