Can blue verify whether elite damage apply to players?

I guess a lot of people would be curious about whether their investment of elite damage gears worth the money. Because in one of witch doctor's skills - Relentless Giant, it clearly says that "Elite enemies include champions, rares, bosses, and other players." And you can check the link below:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/class/witch-doctor/active/gargantuan

But based on some of the test online, it seems the 30% elite damage of SOJ doesn't apply to players, which mean players are not identified as "elites".

In this case a lot of great gears will be useless in PVP, such as "The Oculus" or some of the mojos which have elite damage affixes. And not only the elite damage, the "reduce elite damge" will also be useless too. So great gears like litany, stormshield will lose their value in PVP.

It could be very important for the value of a myriad of gears in AH and may be a huge impact on the economy. A bug report is also posted on the PTR. Can blue verify this ?

Many thanks

bump for more attention.

One of my friends said his restless giant never gets enraged. Also lots of tests indicate the elite damage doesn't work. However, Monk's skill Searing Light seems work on players.

This is so frustrating.
