Marquise rubies are stronger than I thought.

Long story short, going from Radiant Star Emerald to Marquise Ruby in weapon was a 55k increase in dps. 422k to 477k.

These have been the projected numbers since they were announced. The Calamity being the weapon where it truly shines. I'm wondering how well it does on other one handers like Dannettas. Hopefully this will help bring up the dual wielding back but the bonus for dual wielding needs to be higher in order to compete with a good dead mans legacy.

If we use Marquise Ruby for calamity, doesnt this mean that it is possible to build a build with not much CC and CD but lots of IAS instead?

Thanks for the pic. Could you get a marquis emerald for comparison please? Thanks

Even doing math on my manticore shows that switching one green gem to a red gem would increase my DPS slightly, and that's with my super terrible attack speed.

That's really interesting.
I'd like to try it in my bow if one of you wouldn't mind lending it for a few seconds.

The gems are account bound, and there's a bug on the PTR now where if you socket them into a weapon that weapon becomes account bound as well, so I can't use the gem on your weapon either, for example.

The manticore slightly benefits, in fact a lot of high end black weapons benefit slightly but only the calamity gets an insane boost in DPS like that due to its massive attack speed and damage range. That said I would like to see what a top end Dannettas with a ruby would be like.

I own both and a calamity so I will test it later when I get home on the PTR. I am wondering if a ruby in a Dannettas spite might make it comparable to a 1300 DPS Calamity, if so it might make it a poor mans calamity and a good offhand.

Do you have 2 red gems? I want to see the DPS on a couple diffrent manti to see if it matches my spreadsheet calc or if it matches D3rawr calc, since they're giving me different numbers.

I don't need the weapons back either even if it gets stuck to you, lol.

I only got one atm haha, it's pretty easy to make though, just need one demonic essence.

Hopefully this will help bring up the dual wielding back

nope - Ruby will only help the weapon it is on, not both.

DW IAS is inferior due to DML.... the spite is 1.6APS
LoH on revenge is a joke due to shadowpower
Cold on the nats costs dps & the snare is overwritten by most skills

unless you get a +286+360, +50%, +11%ias, 100%cd, OS rare with (dex or good leech) blizzs handbow itemization is botched; no way around

Maybe you miss read what I said, I was saying putting a ruby into a spite would make it like a poor mans calamity. Not that one ruby would help both weapons.

By the way you seem to have a good idea of what's wrong with current dual wielding, could you make a thread about it in PTR outlining what is wrong with dual wielding and ideas I how to buff it?

I was going to make it but its too hard to type it all up spellcheck and gather info from just my phone.

Thanks I thin the DW DH community would appreciate it.

Here are some comparisons of what the new gems do to my calamity:

100% Emerald: http://tinyurl.com/bharod5 vs

110% Emerald: http://tinyurl.com/auhn66f vs

150wd Ruby: http://tinyurl.com/bff7cno

enjoy.

Apparently d3rawr has incorrect calculations, and ruby in game turns out even better then the numbers I got from d3rawr.

Thanks Myon for testing all my weapons :)

On black damage weapons: Calamity, Windforce, etc.

Damage added from Marquise Ruby is 150-300
You have to multiply that by % damage on weapon. So my Windforce has 49%.

Min damage = 150 * 1.49 = 223.5
Max damage = 300 * 1.49 = 447

My Windforce was a 1368.4 (513-1249), and with a Marquise Ruby is now 1888.9 (736-1695).

Now that's some power...

How does this compared to Manticore with x1 Mar Em and x1 Mar Ruby?

Do you guys think calamity will become BIS with the new Mar Rubies? Is it time to sell my manticore for good?
