can you really count in MoC:Sub with such a high scalar? keep in mind that it, by itself, wouldn't kill many mobs since it has fairly low damage output (unless ofc you run with 200k+ DPS). It is more of a "finisher" that cleans what's leftover by TR / SW. Therefore you still have to get at least in SW range for it to give you the xp.
TR on the other hand - given high enough min damage - kills stuff on hit for sure -> certain xp.
I don't have math for you but it feels that you're scaling Sub to high compared to TR / SW. Ofc i might be wrong, though.
Keep up the good work
Thank you! Looks like when I decide to TR I will remain in mp0.. Almost faster for me to put on reg gear and bump up to mp4 or 5 though. Especially since TR'ing is about as much fun for a group as WW'ing for barbies.
Actually mp1 isn't any slower than mp0

Mmmmmmmkay, the Appendix is up.
I don't know how much y'all are interested in that stuff ... but PLEASE remember when reading this material that the numbers I came up with are RELATIVE numbers not REPRESENTATIVE numbers.
You can not calc your "true" DPS with these numbers. They only allow you to compare how effective one skill is to another while moving.

added damage does fix this class...
blizzard made claims that damage was fine pre-buffs in this patch, yet the class lacked the martial arts feel they were going for...
so thei fix was to add more damage?
monk class needs an entire overhaul IMO...skills, animations and runes.
Thank you sir. I've been looking for this
I'd just like to ask if for the TR build that if i use Tailwind rune will it affect the damage i have with SW seeing as i pass by the mobs faster?? or will it be more efficient in exp farming
Thank you sir. I've been looking for this
speed translates to efficiency when para farming. As long as you can kill mobs with one pass thru then aim for maximizing your speed at which you do that. the TR dmg buff is flatline across board.
Thanks for the update. Great stuff here. Quick question.
So I've been looking at Spec Var A.
I was curious if you had run the numbers on swapping Mantra of Healing - CB for Mantra of Conviction - Submission and then changing SW: Fire to SW: Inner Storm. You don't lose any spirit regen (provided you have 100% up-time on SW). So the second part of that leaves DPS. Would we expect a net DPS loss here or is it just a reduction in effectiveness due to the radius decrease of SW?
EDIT: Ran the numbers - considering you did all the work and I just needed to call on the powers of ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLGEBRA.
TR + SW:IS + Sub = 516.9%
TR + SW:F + MoH = 483.3%
So it looks like IS + Sub theoretically outperforms F + MoH, especially considering you can spam MoC for the extra 12% on elites during SSS:FO. But the caveat is that you have to remain cognizant of the fact that if SW:IS falls off you hurt your spirit regen. I'm gonna try this out and see what it looks like and more importantly how negatively up-time affects this build.

Sadly, TR is such a small portion of our DPS and SO hard to keep active 100% of the time that it is not likely that a TR snapshot would drastically affect a TR monk's skill choice.
Druin (or anyone else for that matter)
With the incredible 1.0.7 buffs to the basic TR build I have been having a blast so far switching from a DR:F / SSS build to a TR + Bells build.
However I do have a question.
First my base spirit regen with MoH: Circ + Exalted Soul + Guardians Path puts me in the ~13 spirit / second realm. Which i would think should be sufficient to run bells, and at the very least should sustain TR indefinitely (i only have the standard 8% ias from innas pants) However i seem to be net negative in spirit regen, or at least it feels negative at best it's neutral.
So I have been using SW: Inner Storm as well. With the buffs to TR base damage I still kill ~60% of white mobs in one pass, but I would really like to be able to drop MoH:Circ for MoC:Sub is it worth ditching my current amulet for a modest crit chance Xeph, would that lead to an overall faster kill speed? Either that or a LS Skorn will be my next major purchase.
Thanks in advance.
BTW as of this posting my profile seems to have the buff from BW active on my dps. Unbuffed sheet dps is right at 120k
hey druin its me, u pointed out to me before that my build was more bell than TR.
anyway, this patch is like a godsend to my near-perma bell build. i jumped from being barely MP8 capable to MP10, occasional death. it feels too good to be true (read: might get nerfed). i certainly hope not of course.
TR monks dominate the battlefield now with speed, power and incredible sustain. a full health bar (i have 47k hp) from a single bell on a single target is no joke.
