Diablo® III

Plus move speed should be averaged in Co-Op

In Co-Op games, especially Public games everyone is rush rush always. And if you do not have the move speed to keep up with their move speed you fall behind and miss out on the action.

So what is the fix to this?
All plus move speed on gear is averaged out over every character/player in the Co-Op group.

Why do this?
- So everyone stays as a group, better chance to beat the monsters.
- No one lags behind and misses out on loot or gold or XP
- Everyone always feels all the buffs from the other players
- No one misses out on shrines.
- Everyone is contributing to the killing, no one too slow to catch up to kill

Any downsides to this?
- You might lose a little personal move speed when all the move speed on every player is averaged out. But the idea of Co-Op is teamwork and not "go hard yourself"

So I think this is a good idea to help everyone stay as a group and not have people unable to catch up and miss out on things in Co-Op. If people did not rush rush always in most Co-Op games this'd not be an issue. But people just don't listen to slow down. So I believe Blizzard needs this averaging on plus move speed to force everyone back together into a group.

averaging anything is bad for pub games. if there has to be sharing, it needs to be raised to the value of the highest player.

That would work too.

Solution - Get items with movement speed.

Of course this doesn't solve it. Even with 24% movement speed you can't keep up with people playing their way skipping half of the map if you don't.

If everyone has speed increase, then no one has it.

And that's the whole idea. To make everyone even in this.

I know it sucks, as I have experienced it.

But what then would be the point of having movement+ on gear? Or movement talents?

Another pointless QQ thread. First its pickup radius now its movement speed. When does it stop?

Nanny state socialism.

Bad, bad idea. Punish those who sacrificed a vital stat to get +move gear, invalidating that person's choice.

Not well thought out, OP.

I'm against it.

Agreed; it never does.

It's all about looking at someone else with envious eyes.

All valid reasons.

I don't use sprint in pub games, the biggest problem is people picking up EVERY SINGLE STUPID COLORFUL thing that falls on the ground. Thats all fine and dandy, but don't ask me to wait up, or slow down while you visit town >_<

They just need to raise the cap on movement speed overall, and add more items with more than 12% movement speed on them.

Look, I don't like this either, especially since my two FRIENDS (not even just random players, two guys I've known almost forever) have a Monk and a DH, both of which are decked out in high grade AH gear, while my humble CM Wizard that has crap AH gear ('cause he's the only character I'll buy for) has crummy run speed, so they're speeding through levels for "max efficiency," and if I'm not keeping up entirely, I get left behind.

Still...that doesn't mean their choices to raise their move speed should be gimped just because I can't keep up.

If you're playing with people that are going too fast, you need to leave the game and find people who aren't going so fast. Develop friendships with other players you like grinding/farming with on a regular basis as opposed to randoms that aren't reliable.

We tried to share things in co-op and the decision was clear.
Players don't want any modification to their stats.

While you are at it, why not average DPS as well. That way everyone does the same damage and no one out kills another person.

Also, if anyone in the group decides to take a break, the other 3 players automatically get frozen so that everyone stays in a group ALWAYS.
