Diablo® III

Is my math correct (pvp)?

Stats:
Life: 25.293
LReg: 3.841
Armor: 5.462
All Resist: 877
% Damage Reduction from Elite: 14%
% Damage Reduction from Teleport (Safe Passage): 30%
Enemy LVL: 60

Reduction:
[A] Armor: 1 - ( 5462 / ( 5462 + 60 * 50 ) ) = 0,3545
[B] AR: 1 - ( 877 / ( 877 + 60 * 5 ) ) = 0,2549
[C] Elite DR: 1 - ( 14 / 100 ) = 0,86
[D] Teleport DR: 1 - ( 30 / 100 ) = 0,7

TOTAL DAMAGE REDUCTION: 1 - ( A * B * C * D )
= 94,56%

Incoming Damage:
If i use the Skill: "Energy Armor (Force Armor)", the maximum incoming Damage,
which would reduce my life to just 65% is:

Max inc. Damage: ( 25.293 * 1,99999 ) / ( ( 100 - ( 0,9456 * 100 ) ) / 100 )
= 929.898

Life Reg:
After losing 35% of my life, my life will be back to full in X seconds.

Full life after 1 single hit: ( 25293 * 0,35 ) / 3841
= 2,3 seconds

Facts:
.) if i get hit with more than ~930k Damage in one single hit, im dead (without Diamond Skin)
.) If i get hit below ~929k Damage in one single hit i just lose 35% of my maximum life due to my Force Armor
.) Due to my Life Reg i will regenerate 35% of my life in 2,3 seconds.

Now its your turn, you math gurus out there.

Thx in advance :)

A couple of errors. Firstly 'reduced damage from elites' is diminishing returns. So two affixes of 7% is not 86% damage taken its...

0.93 * 0.93 = 86.49% damage. A minor point, but it becomes much more pronounced if you get 3 or 4 affixes.

Second, force armour is limitted to preventing 100% of your life. You are saying it just ceases to work entirely if you take 200.01% of your life and you get one shot. This is not the case.

So lets do it again...

0.3545 * 0.2549 * 0.8649 * 0.70 = 5.471% damage taken
25,293 / 0.05471 = 462,294 raw EHP
462,294 * 0.35 = 161,803
462,294 * 1.35 = 624,097
462,294 * 2.00 = 924,588

So if you take anywhere between 161,804 - 624,097 damage you will instead take 161,803 (8852 life). This will be healed passively in 2.30 seconds.

Any damage you take from 624,097 - 924,587 will 'break shield' and do from 35.01 - 99.99% of your life respectively.

Any damage beyond 924588 will kill you in one shot.

And any DoT like a DH's Impale with Chem. Burn, a Barb's rend, a Witch Doctor's haunt will all kill you in one shot.

awsome - thanks :)

btw: my fault: it should have been:
.) If i get hit below ~929k Damage in one single hit i'm sitting on 1 life.

still, i didnt know the diminishing returns of % reduction from elite.

@niko: not at all - or at least its depening on the dps from the dot's.
ive survived all of them (again: depending on the enemie's gear - and im not talking abour ppl with "noobish" pve gear)

i even had a RARE chance to kill a DH with:
.) old nat's set
.) "strafe bombing"
.) 600k dps!
which for 100% sure is out of my gear range :)

btw: if anyone wants to test anything pvp-related - just add me on th PTR!!!
only problem --> im from EU - so our online times differ for like 9hours.

I dare you to play against a high DPS Skorn barb.. I have about 90% mitigation in PvP and a crit rend does about 80-90k damage from said barb.

@niko: id really like to play against some elite barbs.

Holy sh*t ... another flat 30% damage reduction (sure otheres get it aswell, but ...)

Demon Hunters, Witch Doctors, and Wizards now receive a 30% damage reduction while in the Scorched Chapel

is this correct to "multiply" the 30% redcution with the other reductions?:

Armor: 5.462
AR: 877
Elite DR: 2x7%
Life: 25.293

Reduction:
[A] Armor: 1 - ( 5462 / ( 5462 + 60 * 50 ) ) = 0,3545
[B] AR: 1 - ( 877 / ( 877 + 60 * 5 ) ) = 0,2549
[C] Elite DR: 0,93 * 0,93 = 0,8649
[D] Teleport DR: 1 - ( 30 / 100 ) = 0,7
[E] PvP DR: 1 - ( 30 / 100 ) = 0,7

TOTAL DAMAGE REDUCTION: 1 - ( A * B * C * D * E)
= 96,17%

--> How much damage i can take to just recieve max 35% Damage: 891.611
--> How much damage i can take to still be alive (~1 life): 1.320.899
--> How much damage i can take to still be alive (with Crystal Shell): 1.887.719

If my math is correct this time ... thats some really huge numbers! (for 25k life ^^)

IF ur calcs are correct here are my numbers.

a)1- 4300/7300 =1- 0,589 = 0,411
b)1- 816/1116 =1- 0.731 = 0,269
c)with 3 7s stacked = 0,93*0,93*0,93 = 0,804 / or with 4 7s stacked (0,748)
e)0,7

1-(0,062) = 0,938 / or 1-(0,057) = 0,943

so 63k hp / 6,2% = 1,016m ehp or 63k hp/ 5,7% = 1,105m ehp

so if i factor in ds and four 7% reductions= 84khp / 5,7% = 1,473m ehp

Nice!
