Diablo® III

Strongest Possible Manticore

Hi, just for fun I decided to compute what the theoretical absolute strongest power Manticore would be. Here it is and you can drool all you like!

Manticore (option Emerald + Emerald)
1414.9 Damage Per Second
905 - 1414 Damage
1.22 Attacks Per Second
  • +286-667 Poison Damage
  • +50% Damage
  • +200 Dexterity
  • Increases Attack Speed by 11%
  • Critical Hit Damage Increased by 100%
  • (Socket) Marquise Emerald (Critical Hit Damage Increased by 110%)
  • (Socket) Marquise Emerald (Critical Hit Damage Increased by 110%)

  • Manticore (option Emerald + Ruby)
    1749.8 Damage Per Second
    1130 - 1738 Damage
    1.22 Attacks Per Second
  • +286-667 Poison Damage
  • +50% Damage
  • +200 Dexterity
  • Increases Attack Speed by 11%
  • Critical Hit Damage Increased by 100%
  • (Socket) Marquise Emerald (Critical Hit Damage Increased by 110%)
  • (Socket) Marquise Ruby (Minimum Damage +150, Maximum Damage +150)

  • Manticore (option Ruby + Ruby)
    2160.6 Damage Per Second
    1355 - 2186 Damage
    1.22 Attacks Per Second
  • +286-667 Poison Damage
  • +50% Damage
  • +200 Dexterity
  • Increases Attack Speed by 11%
  • Critical Hit Damage Increased by 100%
  • (Socket) Marquise Ruby (Minimum Damage +150, Maximum Damage +150)
  • (Socket) Marquise Ruby (Minimum Damage +150, Maximum Damage +150)

  • I computed these based on the maximum values and by adjusting the maximum damage when the minimum is greater than the maximum accordingly. Also, I rounded the numbers to match what would be displayed on the game screen.

Just out of curiousity. How much cash do the new gems cost? I haven't been able to buy the radiant emerald manual yet.

The gems will cost 3 radiant stars and 20,000,000 gold; thus they will cost around 100M. But the real problem will be the gem PLANS. Currently, if nothing is done, these plans will be around 1B for the first few weeks.

    As a comparison:

If I equip option A (2x emerald) I would gain 70913 unbuffed DPS.

If I equip option B (1x emerald 1x ruby) I would gain 78390 unbuffed DPS.

If I equip option C (2x ruby) I would gain 74652 unbuffed DPS.

So with my current gear, option B is ideal but others with more non-weapon critical hit damage and/or less critical hit chance may find option C better!

Edit: with Archery passive, it seems option C is better than option B!
