WD Mana Resource Management Change

Please read and do something about scalability of WD's resource. Every other class's resource scales with gear/ias/abilities. WD's primaries are the only primary that COSTS resources and they all need some revamping. Zekro did a good job at summarizing some of WD's resource design flaws and needs to be looked at.

WD's are the least played class for a reason. I love my WD and would like to see some love from developers.
Yup everything Zekro says is right. WDs are very clunky and require several gear sets. Fortunately pet classes tend to be played cool and patient people.

As long as mana is similar to D1 and D2, WDs will always have problems, because those games had mana potions and we do not. Making all D3 health potions into rejuvenation pots would be a good start. This can affect other classes too.

Still, mana should have some cool effect to it the way the other class resources do. One solution lies in Blood Ritual. It could be passive for all Witch Doctors, and the life cost and life regen could actually be noticeable, so we should be focusing more on healing ourselves (which we already do well) rather than on regaining mana.
this is BS.. you can still build endless spam builds if you put down some crit chance and pick up mana regen.. even without that old passive we had that i forgot about since blizz nerfed it out of our memory


I think you missed the mark a bit. The article was pointing out how WD's resource (mana) is not scalable with gear to handle upper MP levels. Having passives that are 'on kill' or 'on globe' for mana sustainability is flawed as you move up in MP levels. The resource has no issues in lower MP levels where you 1 shot everything. The concern is moving up in MP level... other classes have resources that scale well (crit for APoC with wiz, crit with Into the Fray with barb, ias with DH/monk primaries to generate resource).

You'll notice that WD's primaries COST mana rather than generating anything... hence ias is a detriment to WD's resource pool when it should be a benefit. Perhaps read the article again a little slower this time.
