Definately right about the weapon socket should be offensive.

Thorns bonus should be an affix applied if socketed into Bracers or something.

I genuinely believe all items should be able to roll with sockets and some having unique bonuses. Instead of just "All armor gives-".

So as for the weapon socket, the Topaz should atleast be adding IAS or elemental damage (after they fix the lack of application for different elemental attacks).

On a side note I always wonder why monsters have a 'class' under their name under their health bar? Undead/Demon etc.? Why give information like this if it makes no difference at all? This knowledge of the monsters affects nothing.

But it does (barely). There are some weapons that give extra damage against demons.

One stat? Wow you're satisfied with that? I would've thought that would in courage more dissatisfaction with it?

Stop suggesting basic stats. The biggest problem with this game is that the stats are dumbed down so much and there are so few viable stats. "it should be attack speed and not something new and interesting."

How about it does something cool like -Increase resource generation by X%-

Yes that is another good option.

Only problem with something 'new' in just gems means other stats would have to be created to coincide with the new gem changes. Almost impossible to hope for, so we just ask for added bonuses to existing affixes that make us stronger and add a different choice when it comes to socketing a gem.

Would be. Whatever the bonus for other gems should be really good to compete with the huge Crit damage bonus from emeralds. Like this suggestion.

So to matter how OP the idea is people cannot forget, in order to have this OP bonus you must sacrifice the OP Crit damage. So one must be choosing a different play style. Hence more diversity (choice).

That doesn't sound bad at all. Here is what I think gems should be.

Amethyst = LS - Since LS is only good when you have over 80K DPS or so, so LoH is still usefull for weaker Amethys gem.

Topaz = Reduce cool-down on skill like WTFlag said and 40-60 All resis for armor.

Never going to happen, Topaz is a dead gem. Blizzard just will not budge on this. You're wasting your time.

Topaz will be getting buffed and made useful for certain barb and WD builds.

Then there needs to be introduction of new gems which they said they will eventually do. Something else to increase choice on which gem you socket. Not a no brain- main stat for armour and emerald for weapon.

They cannot make it add attack speed because there's too many gem tiers and too little increments possible to IAS.

Perhaps they should make it +0.xx APS from 0.01 to 0.25 for M-Gem
