Can anyone beat my dh's scoundrel or templar?
Scoundrel: meant to be pure cc with some survivability and exp/mf buffing
-58 k hp
-33% dodge/21% DR from armor/190 res all
-776 dps (it is a pure cc scoundrel)
-1.32 atk speed
Templar: meant to be pure tank with mf/exp buffing
-51.5% DR from armor, 295 res all, 20.3% dodge
-7% exp/29% mf
I'll let you know when I get a Buriza and star.
The only thing anemic about your scoundrel is the token it has. Other than that it looks ok for the other stuff it has.
Here are at least 2 scoundrel tokens that can pretty much beat yours:
I actually have a couple tokens just like the ones that you linked. They are not as good as the one that I have equipped, as the purpose of my scoundrel is CC/survivability/mf/exp. Remember that followers get huge bonuses on main stats/vit (i.e. the int roll on my token is more res all than the RA roll on the one you linked). DPS doesn't matter at all as it is a CC Buriza scoundrel (procs from hellfire = most of the dps) so it can never get high, and my dh is deals lots of dps.
I am already at PL 100, so having mf/gf/exp is really not a necessity for me. I haven't gotten around to removing the hellfire rings on the templar and scoundrel yet.
I use archon, that means I don't really leave things alive in my path. Due to that my scoundrel's HP do not need to be as high as yours does.
Your focus on survivability of the follower can only mean your just moving through mobs before killing them outright. It is your play style that is making you focus on the survivability factor part even when you almost have 300k dps.
Other than that, different char play style will dictate the follower stats types to focus on.
@kryokon- Will be nice to toss the hellfires when I level up a bit more. Likewise I don't leave things alive... but I feel like you are talking about low mp farming? I built the scoundrel with 1.07 and high mp in mind- hopefully he will be surviving mp 8-10 elite fights that last more than 2 secs, keeping stuff frozen/chilled throughout! What would be better to boost on a cc scoundrel than survivability and the cc itself? DPS is useless!
Mine beat yours:) (on WD)
CC scoundrel (have a 5.1 freeze star (without mf) and 2x broken promises with 2.5% fear and attack speed (one is legacy) for his full CC gear). He is dressed as EXP/MF/CC mix as i use him now.
DPS enchantress and MF Templar just for fun.

Very nice star on your scoundrel. I think the most efficient way to get survivability on followers is stacking main stats/vit and sneaking in life% when possible. Remember that 30 int is 75 all res (2.5x stat bonus), etc. A good option is getting a oculus ring with ias on it (to support cc). I think the "luxurious signet" is the easiest upgrade for you. Nice that you are 100 and don't need to worry about a hellfire!
The way the vit and life% stack on followers is just silly... with max mf and exp bonuses my temp still has like 146k.

Thanks for the quick response. So you think stacking Int is better then stacking Strength for survival?
Edit: Funny strory on the Amulet. I bid 200 million on one that was almost perfect attack speed/freeze chance on one and was winning at 50 million. I had to go to work but when i came home somone actually outbid me on it! I either made someone pay way more then they wanted or really underestimated the value
Edit2: I think your math is off on the Int to Ar ratio

Hey Torpedo. I don't think that stacking any one main stat is better than another, it's about maintaining the sweet spot between dodge/AR/armor to get as much ehp as possible (if you have 400 AR and 2k armor, stacking str is definitely better). Sorry I left a zero out: 10 int = 1 AR, and followers get exactly 2.5x bonus from main stats (100 int= 25 AR). Still getting 300 int on a token for instance is easy as people don't relate to it as the 75 AR that it really is. Thinking this way will let you get your moneys worth imo.
Heh yeah your ammy is definitely sweet. I am still only para 65, so I was happy to get mine with the near perfect mf/freeze rolls and the added bonus of the immob at only like 25m!
Forgot i was on US board. Here is my account.
I love them Followers! Scoundrel for exp and item farming, enchantress for ubers/keys/bosses
While the scoundrel freezes more monsters over all, the enchantress is more reliable in freezing one mob permanently.
Since i'm almost para 100, i don't care about bonus exp, mf or gf on my followers anymore. And i don't care about my followers damage. The best they can do is surivive and freeze or give any other kind of crowd control.
For instance, lets say the scoundrel does 20k dam... what is that really worth in comparision to me being able to just stand and fire non-stop because the mobs are all frozen? thats way more damage than what a follower can possibly reach, even with perfect gear.
Im my opionon, people who are trying to increase the followers damage are simply equipping them wrong:
On CC-follower-items you should be looking for these stats:
Chance to freeze/stun/blind... > IAS> Vita > Life % > LOH > Armor > Dam reduction % > @ Res > Lifereg > Strength (for armor)
Make your follower:
1. survive everything and always
2. give as much crowd control as possible (except for the damage increasing skills, like 3cc on scoundrel or 3 ias on enchatress)
3. deal more damage as endgame tuning
