Diablo® III

The Good & The Bad

So there was an update to OS X. This reset the SMC, the common solution to what seems to plague many Macs.

Results: This stops the 'stuttering' which makes this game incredibly frustrating to navigate. Now to the bad, the FPS continues to be abysmally low. My specs have been posted multiple times. I believe this terrible FPS/Freezing (the 'freezing' is different from 'stuttering') is due to the 'caching' of content. It's just overwhelming my machine, there are segments of the game where it's essentially unplayable, albeit with 'stuttering' seemingly fixed.

It's unacceptable to enter a way point, freeze for three seconds, to find yourself 'instagibed' by an elite pack, easily to have been avoided had the freeze never occurred. This is a game that prides itself on 'efficiency', the incentive to slay many many mobs extremely fast. This is the credited way to paragon and find 'phat l00t'. If the game performs so poorly (I exceed the required specifications to play re: hardware requirements) that my efficiency is deprived, I need to find alternative solutions.

Booting into Windows is not a solution. I do not believe that should be the required methodology going forward. This game is still supported under OS X therefore said issue(s) must further be investigated.

I hear you, but it seems that the mac community is just to small for them to do anything about it. In the end there is no use playing the game with such bad performance, and no use in waiting for a fix, when boot camp is so simple
