Diablo® III

Likely Proof of Work on New Patches?

It's hard to ignore that no blue's have posted in over 5 days now. That's FIVE, read 'em, 5! days.

Can you fathom how many patch fixes and new things they've developed in that amount of time?! I mean even if the team was only made up of 10 people, that would mean 400 hours (assuming full-time employees 40/hrs a week) of pure MANPOWER! (Approximately 1/4 of what horsepower would be, as horses have 4 hearts (-: ) Even if you take out 100 hours for management duties, that's still 300 hours! It took NASA only about a week (that's 168 hours) to send people to the moon and get them back, so imagine...just imagine what Blizzard could be doing in 300 hours...

Endless...possibilities.

Please stay a while and share your thoughts, your deepest idea-somethings, on what you believe they have in store for us! Muahahahahaha.

The blues that post on forums are only Community Managers. They do not do any programming for the game. Them being "gone" for days just means they haven't been actively posting. Doesn't mean they are making a new patch.

Well that's not really an idea on what you think they are working towards, but in response:

Don't be so sure...when all of the programmers and developers get too busy, that's when they pull the community managers from their duties in order to help with other general and administrative tasks. I'm sure they are busy enough that they aren't getting time to post.

You're right Enigma, it looks like Vaeflare was able to sneak in a post and forum browse on the lunch break. That's good!

People have in the past said the same thing you have and blues have posted saying they have nothing to do with development. Whether devs are busy or not does not affect CMs.

The development team is absolutely hard at work on further improvements for Diablo III, but I'll toss you some food for thought: this past weekend was actually a holiday weekend here in the US, so many Blizzard Employees were away from the office enjoying time with friends and family.

Members of the Diablo III development team also aren't the ones posting on the forums. That responsibility lies on your friendly neighborhood Diablo III Community Managers, Lylirra, Grimiku, and myself. All throughout the week, we're busy with everything from posts here (many of which are not reflected in the "Latest Blizzard Posts," so you might have missed them), through to blogs, announcements, patch notes, hotfixes, social media, and more. So if you don't see new posts from us in one location, make sure to check them all out. There's a lot that goes on aside from the highlighted blue posts in the general forums. :)

It's fun to read how people think things work. Like all Blizzard employees are Keebler elves that have the same capacity to magically fix or ruin the game with a post or hotfix.

Just how many threads do you guys actually read? I get so tired reading people repeating themselves over and over again. And how do you decide which information to pass on an which not?

While I'm personally a fan of Valentine's Day, the US holiday I was referencing in my post was President's Day weekend, and this Monday was a United States federal holiday.

Dude, you're trolling right? Or at least not living in the U.S. This past Monday was President's Day.

Edit: Heh, I should refresh the page before posting :P

Basements are void of Presidents Day.
