Quick little cheat cheat for gem crafting costs to Flawless Royal

===================================================

Been picking up gems and tomes throughout my game play, as i'm sure most of us do. There are quite a few gem calculators out there so i'm not doing anything ground breaking here....

I made, what I think, a very simple spreadsheet that shows:
  • The cost to craft gems
  • How many flawless squares needed
  • How many Tomes you needed
  • AH profit if you sold it.
  • There is a link to the current gem sale history at the bottom. You have to manually plug in the current AH cost in order for it to calculate the profit. I don't know of any API that I call to get the prices on the fly.

It's only for on hand items and materials...meh, since I had it, sharing :)

It's a google spreadsheet so no software needed:

I'm not even adding it my own index of useful guides and info found here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/7415793376 :)

    Quick View:

                   |  Jewler     |  F. Squares  | Tomes
                   |-----------------------------------------
    Perfect Square | $30,000     | 3            | 3
    Radiant Square | $140,000    | 9  (+6)      | 15 (+12)
    Star           | $500,000    | 27 (+18)     | 54 (+39)
    Flawless Star  | $1,600,000  | 81 (+54)     | 174 (+120)
    Perfect Star   | $5,000,000  | 243 (+162)   | 537 (+363)
    Radiant Star   | $15,400,000 | 729 (+486)   | 1631 (+1094)
    Marquise       | $66,200,000 | 2187 (+1458) | 4918 (+3287)

Nice I was figuring out the cost to make my own rather than buy outright and this will save some time for sure!

Me likey. You should add this to the list Kamel. Lots of people would find it extremely useful. :D

    Interesting feedback. Thanks!
With all the resources out there I just kind of thought this was not very useful.

If enough folks like it I'll add it to my list. Lol, I'm vetting my own post, hehe

Oh, just add it already! :)

The math doesn't look correct to me.

For example the Perfect Square Amethyst shows a $35,567 AH price, $30k jeweler cost, and profit of $4,732.

I would argue the "profit" (relative given that you are using your own mats) is:
    $35,567 - $30k - $35,567*0.15= $232 not $4,732.

Oops, I thought I accounted for the 15 percent.
How embarrassing, I'll fix it when I get home
    Thx

EDIT: very embarrassing, I had the calculation in there but I did the math backwards, daaar :(, fixed and thanks again.

Awesome, thank you. I was using the online gem cost calc and had to figure out the in between math as I always have a portion of the gems on hand. This will be quicker when I am in a rush :D

  • 1.) you guys are awesome!
  • 2.) thanks!
  • 3.) I'm pretty excited about the postive responses, I've had this for a while but just threw it out here on a whim
  • 4.) Super excited I'm on the verge of making it on my own list! xD
  • 5.) Someone mentioned (in-between) values so I added what I am calling a Vrkarian forumula to show you how much more you need from the previous level. It looks like:

  •                |  Jewler     |  F. Squares  | Tomes
                   |-----------------------------------------
    Perfect Square | $30,000     | 3            | 3
    Radiant Square | $140,000    | 9  (+6)      | 15 (+12)
    Star           | $500,000    | 27 (+18)     | 54 (+39)
    Flawless Star  | $1,600,000  | 81 (+54)     | 174 (+120)
    Perfect Star   | $5,000,000  | 243 (+162)   | 537 (+363)
    Radiant Star   | $15,400,000 | 729 (+486)   | 1631 (+1094)
    Marquise       | $66,200,000 | 2187 (+1458) | 4918 (+3287)

p.s. I went WAY too much time formatting ^ to make it look readable :(

Added Marquise and since I went through the effort of formatting the previous post I added it to the OP.

For quick information you don't need to open the spread sheet at all :)
