I saw a post on the forums that said something about reaching 3.01 or something ias does improve dps on a 'break point' basis, wasn't sure if this was correct or not?
I'm talking about dps potential only, NOT fury regeneration/relating to sustaining perm-WOTB.
I was also wondering about how beneficial a Cold SoJ is for a HOTA barb on MP 5+ that uses EF (and therefore causes fear). I personally like the fear because it gives me distance to create whirlwinds from running (a fury regeneration benefit), but I know I do lose a little in dps from catching up. I'm at 74% move spd, so it's pretty easy to catch up, but didn't know if using a Cold SoJ would still allow enough distance for whirlwind before catching up? I'm planning to try it out with a cheap cold SoJ, but no way I can easily test a cold -hota one lol.
I was also wondering if top tier barbs (250k+ dps unbuffed) focus on keeping 100% crit (including fury chance) or if you'll aim more for a 90-95% in exchange for more crit dgm, str, ias, that leads to an overall dps increase. I've always aimed for 100% because if I stop critting, I lose crit chance from lack of fury - but that dps is always hard to calculate...
