Diablo® III

Are CMs or Players creating questions for AtD2?

Itemization should be first because they have added new content has been added. Why ask for an expansion that they can apparently use to make the game just as bad or worse than it was released and patched and you have to pay them more money. When they can just release patches that are free and paid for by the RMAH and purchase of the game, that did not have all the content they claimed and didn't deliver yet.

They have already stated previously that they will not charge for an xpac. And if the community asks the questions like this..

if you guys keep being vague about 'itemization' you will get vague answers and vague promises

i say shoot for one things first.. make all elemental damage do unique things besides cold

start from there and then itemization can take root and then do another phase, etc

with no focus there is no goal

Then we will get what we get. You have to be more specific. You can't go to your doctor for massive chest pains and only tell him you "don't feel good" and expect him to make a proper diagnosis.. Once he knows the actual problem he can put together a treatment plan that will get you back on your way to feeling 100%. Or you can just stick to the same old "I don't like where itemization is at" and have them fix it they way they see fit. But as far as the xpac goes, yes we should be looking for that IF the proper questions are asked and they are given the communities actual problems. But only when the itemization and loot tables are fixed.

ARPGs are not MMOs.

Content is so secondary to the item finding and character building.

It is players like you who have ruined D3 as all you WoW kiddies need more content all the time, whereas real ARPG players don't care about the content, but play for the fun of finding items and making a character.

There isn't much content for a game that's been so long in development.

Based upon this quote, it sounds like the CMs (or other Blizzard representatives) are creating the questions for Ask the Devs 2 and not the playerbase. Can we get a clarification as to the source of the questions for AtD2?

Thank you for asking this question, and I'm happy to clarify. Players will generate questions, and vote on the ones they want to see answered. When that phase is over the community managers will compile the popular questions and send it to the developers for answers. Once we have put that all together in a digestible manner and translated the responses for all of our regions, we’ll will post a big summary in the forums (like we did here.)

The Ask the Devs blog can be found here, and has the details for how it will operate. Just keep in mind that it has not been updated to reflect itemization as the subject yet.

Thank you for the clarification.

ah the illusion of democracy.

they likely already have their "solution" to itemization in the works and are only pretending to take player suggestions/questions like the last ATD round.

Dude it's a Q&A session - not a suggestion session.

Having said that if you're even remotely followed the game and these forums at all you'd see that many of the features they've added since release were ideas that players came up with. Paragon levels a perfect example.

dude are u new at the forums or just naive?
AtD is just a pathetic try to show communication with us. As long votes DOESN'T HAVE a number blue freely pick the questions.
As for your example is a bad one. Cuz acti-blizz introduced paragon system in order to profit from RMAH. From me made 100€ tax fee from 2 leoric signets

You don't select the popular questions though. You select very simplistic ones to answer and still even dance around them.

Well then VOTE DOWN the ones you DON'T want answered. Is that so hard?

If the response from the devs is as forthcoming as it was in the first round, it really doesn't matter who raises the questions.

I wondered if anyone else caught that too. It is in my opinion, stop asking the devs and deliver patches to fix bugs and generate new content. I (have) enjoyed the game but there simply is not enough (meaningful) new content to keep me interested.

I keep hoping and wishing though...

Sorry but you have 6k elite kills. The content is still relatively new at that point. Real ARPG players do in fact need enough content to keep themselves from getting bored silly grinding the same thing over and over. And just what character making are you referring to? There isn't any in this game as it currently stands

oh dear God... Blues said that clearly that vote down doesn't count

It would show some transparency and integrity for Blizzard to reveal the vote count for all question submissions. While the current system doesn't reveal the vote count to us users, there is a way.

There will end up being 26 pages of questions posted, with each post having a unique post number. Put together a quick table showing containing post number and number of votes and publish that. The community can take it from there.

Lies.
They will just pick the questions close enough to the ones they already have prepared answers for.

Be open and transparent or just see the ATD2 fail as ATD1 failed.
The first one was great, they even gave info for things that were not 1.07.

If by fail you mean "cybabies will moan and insist that they are defrauded", then QA2 will also "fail".
