Monitor response time - How important is it?

Looking to get a new monitor and was wondering how important response time is when playing D3? Anyone recommend a nice monitor to purchase?

the response time is important in 3d games with roration view, they create a "shadow" when you move the camera |

Most modern monitors have pretty good response times, so it really isn't an issue anymore, especially for games like D3.
